My tensioner sounds when I start my car. A loud clunk is heard.

Does my tensioner spring is shot or a belt replacement is needed?

If the belt hasn't been replaced in a while get one on general principle. When at the store get one for an '89 TTA. It's 1/2 shorter and about half the money.
