My 86 T-Type has the rpo WH1 on the trunk sticker. Is there another place that verifies this as well? My car has been painted black but I can see the gray center on the fender edge. I was just curious.

I think the trunk sticker is your best bet. Your car is nice but I find it too bad that someone painted it all black... You could always have both sides painted dark grey and it'll have it's original "WH1" look again, no need to repaint the whole car!
Claude.

Cowl Tag - Paint code trim tag on firewall has 3 paint codes 19L 15M 19U Only a WH1 has these numbers
19L -19 Lower Black
15M - 15 Middle Medium Grey Metallic
19U - 19 upper Black

On the bottom of the Cowl Tag:
D86 - designer series
W11 - T Type

Need to get chrome bumpers also .

Awesome thanks guys. Crazy thing is there are some chips on the bumper and you can see they were chrome bumpers and they welded the molding holes in and but a filler panel where the front liscense plate was. It’s really a rough paint job up close. I’ll probably paint it once I’ve gotten the car running good.

One little detail its missing is the hood emblem. See if you can tell that the hole was infilled.

It’s official. Thanks for the help

Also, I believe the WH1 is the only T Type with the Rear Spoiler as part of the designer package. With the rarity of the car - 463 produced in 1986 - it would be nice to restore it back to its originality IMHO. If in fact you do a repaint, I may be able to offer up some detailed pics of the paint details around the header panel and bumper fillers where the pinstriping belongs. If you decide to rebadge it you may want information on where they are placed too.

Most definitely. I will repaint back to original. And will have lots of questions. I’ve seen some discussion on the right paint codes being used. And also the pinstripes. I guess I need to look for original chrome bumpers too. I imagine I’ll wait awhile before painting so I can enjoy it some. Crazy part is I knew nothing about the WH1 and started the engine build and was reading one night about the WH1 on here so I went out to see what mine was.

I believe it also had aluminum bumper support/backer , I know mine does .
