Anyone care to take a look at a Powerlogger file for me

I have a Powerlogger file I need some advice on. The AFR is doing a odd swing. Take a look from frame 909 where it drops from 14.xx down to 12.xx for no apparent reason. And starting at frame 980 on, where I get into it a bit, it drops really low and then goes really lean. I'm amazed at that amount of boost I have no knock!
I'm having a problem trying to attach all my MAFT Pro settings in a spreadsheet to save time trying to cut and paste all the info. Don't seem to be able to download a .bin either

What chip?

Your settings and version are hard to understand. Are you currently 5.27?
Whats with 3 different settings?

Thats strange. From the way the file looks the maf and idc hits a flat spot right at the high tune point. Like a bunch of fuel is being pulled. It slightly recovers then hits another flat spot. Did you do a factory reset on the tpro after you reflashed it?

Tip: You can wire the tpro's analog 2 output to the powerlogger input 4 or 5 and you will be able to watch and log Tpro correction on the pl. Set Tpro analog 2 output to "correction factor". Do the same with the input setting on the pl.
 
Yeah, I cant figure it. (BTW I'm running in SD mode. )I was wondering it may have something to do with the AF or PT tracking settings? If you look at my TPS it isn't pegged, just mildly putting my foot into it to get into some boost. Wondering if I'm siting on any trigger parameter thresholds? Take a look at my general settings and let me know if you see anything that seems out of line. I may have a setting that is out of whack, and don't see it.

The current values look ok. Not seeing anything that would cause a flat signal or lean spike at wot. It would be more something in the high load tune.

Even though you are speed density the tpro uses the maf circuit to control fueling. By watching the maf signal on the power logger it gives a direct indication of what the tpro is commanding.

Did you do a factory reset?

Hold 2 right buttons and power up the unit. Continue to hold the buttons until display reads "all data reset".

Run through the set up and configuration and hook up the input for correction factor. This way we can see if the afr correction is in some way contributing to the situation.
 
If using the pt tracking feature, the chip needs to be in open loop. Set parameter 12 to 8.

I would also lower the gain down to 5-6 for pt tracking.

Note: Pt tracking is for idle and cruise. It does not affect wot.

AFR tracking is for wot.
 
Ok, had a few minutes today and set up for correction factor. Did factory reset.
I attached three PL files.
14 is a hard punch of the throttle and backfire
15 is gently stepping into it. no backfire but you can feel the rich/ lean pulse
16 is another walk slowly into boost test

V out 1 should be spark control. That wire should be connected to the ecm IAT wire.

V out 2 is the one you want for correction factor.

AFR TPS should be 2.5 or so.
 
Crap! I just realized I had reversed the V out settings. In too much of a hurry to get the car out. Weather has turned to rain now, so I will have to wait till another day to do a run with the proper settings.

What's going on with the boost? How are you controlling it? It doesn't seem to be working. Run the boost line direct to the actuator and adjust the rod so you only have to pull it 1/8" to get it on the arm. That should give lowest achievable boost.

WOT AFR tracking is not kicking in. Lower the minimum tps setting down. I usually set it around 2.50 but you are light footing it so should prolly set it to like 2.0.

Before you keep going get the number off the chip and number off the injectors? Something seems to be a miss with fueling. Let's be sure we have the right chip.
 
I am running the BSTC . The boost spike is because I'm breaking the tires loose. I can turn it down to control the spike, but it has gotten really cold out, and traction has become an issue. I do run about 24 lbs normally.

Ok I'll try lower the tps setting. (but see below run 019)

It's the right chip and injectors. (Bob's Extender Pro, and 52 lb Seimens with a Modded ECM) I've run this setup for years . It 's just since I did the Tpro software upgrade, this started acting up. It was fine for a few days, then this boost/ backfire thing started. I've checked all the vacuum hoses, looking for a split or blown off hose, checked the coilpack with the Caspers tester, checked all the grounds. Wondering it it may somehow be fuel related. (regulator, filter,...?) Cant check the FP except with the underhood fuel rail gauge, so I will be buying a transducer to be able to log the FP. Going to pull all the plugs and make sure they are still gapped correctly (running AC CR42's)

Even when I light foot it, there is a point where the lean spike happens. you can see it on 017 starting at frame 4.51, 018 frame 457, and 019 frame 284. (tps is above 2.45 threshold 2.75)
 
Hi, I'm bringing this back around because I never resolved the issue.
So, since my last post I have added a fuel pressure sensor, replaced the plugs, checked the coil pack, and had the alternator tested.
Chip is Bob's extender Pro in SD mode, open loop. Have set parameter 12 to 8.
I have also reset all Tpro settings.( 5.27)
Have set up CF for TP into PL
(They are under the attachment "Mine may 25 2016.bin") Cant download .bin???
I have also included a couple of Powerlogger run files where you can see the AFR jump up when I get into it.
I am wondering If I have a setting wrong in the AFR tracking section, or if it is an overlap from the Part throttle/ cruise tracking section that is causing this issue?
For those that don't want to look at the bin for my settings... Cant download? If you want to know any of the other settings ask.

Ok I'm bringing this to the top again. Since the last time, I managed to blow out both head gaskets. (low boost this time) Motor has been rebuilt, (new cam/lifters as well) Have gone over everything I can think of. New Remflex exhaust manifold gaskets, checked for any exhaust leaks, Cam sensor installed properly, (with new cap) changed out coils and module, (checked with Caspers tester) checked plug wires, new plugs properly gaped, new WB O2 sensor, new NB O2 sensor, pulled apart, checked and cleaned FP regulator, all block grounds redone, gone over most of the wiring.
Reset the MAFTPro, and gone over all the settings, (Running in closed loop now, (PT and WOT tracking disabled, for tst purposes) vs SD open loop with WB PT and WOT tracking enabled.
The only thing I haven't done is replace the fuel pump, (I did replace the sock) fuel filter and injectors, and chip. So I'm wondering if the modded ECM, with the peak and hold drivers could be starting to die, and is not able to keep my injectors stable at the higher fuel flow rate? Or are they just dirty and not flowing well? Or is this just a electrical gremlin?
I can list all the TPro setting if anyone want to look at them. (for anyone who doesn't feel like going over all the older posts, it's the 5.27 TPro version, Chip is Bob's Extender Pro, injectors are 52 lb Siemens low imp.)

Header gaskets and stock headers don't play well. You're better off without them.

Is the new cam sensor cap stock style or is it a caspers led ?

Something you can try. Start the motor then unplug the cam sensor. Go for a ride and see if it still acts up.
