anybody ever use a hughes convertor

I found a great deal on a hughes 2500 stall converter its a nonlockup for a $100. Should I pass or grap it.
 
If you know the history of it, how it's been used etc.. it's worth it.
Hughes makes quality parts.
 
If it's a 12" converter it will only be about 400 rpm looser than stock. 0-1# stall will be around 2200 rpm at the most.
 
But there is no way to know if it's a high stall 12" unless you can contact Hughes to see if it's as loose as it can go.
