I thought they had all the corvettes pulled out of the hole!!

Looks like they just uncovered yet another! I've been watching them dig and suck dirt out of the hole for over a week now. I couldn't figure out why they were taking dirt out, instead of filling it in. Now I know.

There are three remaining. Here's the 1993 ZR-1 Spyder and the 2009 1.5 millionth as of today.

I believe five Corvettes were pulled out initially, but three were left in the hole while they secured the walls of the hole and removed some of the concrete/debris. I read that they covered one of the Corvettes with a tarp, then intentionally covered it with sand to keep it from being damaged any further while work was being done.

There's a blog that explains how they're doing all of this, but I can't access it at work.

Correct. The Spyder above is the one that they covered. The tarp and sand are visible in my post (#2) above. Didn't help.

Just search on 'Corvette Museum sinkhole'. After you search, click on 'News' at the top for the latest updates.

The Eighth and final Corvette is finally found and pulled out of the hole. This used to be a red Mallet Hammer conversion.

This is what it looked like before going into the ground.

Actually that's the right rear wheel, but I know what you mean! maybe a little extra rubbing compound will be required!
