advice on tuning

Went to the track last night and couldn't get the car to run any faster than a 7.75 in the eigth mile. I tried boost from 28 to 34 lbs and richer and leaner 10.8 to 11.3 afr. All passes made the same mph of 88 mph, 0 knock on all runs. SO should I try running more timing . I was really hoping I could get the car to the 7.35 to 7.5 range. Do you think the ta49 will get me there ?
time slip
rt .744
60 ft 1.73
330 4.9862
594 7.24
1/8 7.750
1/8 mph 88.61

Dead valve springs, or bad transmission/converter.

new comp 980 springs , trans not slipping , I have no idea how to log converter slip. Shifts at roughly 5,200 rpm and drops to about 4,800 on each shift roughly. My powerlogger was being dumb and wouldn't let me save the files, I had to restart the computer to get it to work but I don't think I have a log to show. I will check tomorrrow.

Your slip looks just like my first pass last Sunday
I added timing 129 then 130 and 131
Last pass was
1.687 60ft
4.749 330
7.361 660 @ 93.04
Timing helped

If its a 2800 12" D5 convertor get rid of it. The stock size convertors are gonna be sloppy AF in 2nd and 3rd and slip like crazy at that stall.

car is not making any horsepower or just blowing through the converter or its to tight and cant make the rpm climb,or it could have a host of issues, its time to be a detective.now, drop the boost to 26psi and leave it,it will and should go 7.5s once you find out what the issues are at 26psi and low 20s on the timing,in the meantime blowing it up wont help.the 60ft is soft and with mid 20s on boost and low 20s on timing and traction 1.5 60fts are the norm.

Its a 10" 2800 lu converter. Yes I know the 60ft is soft. I thought it might be because the 3.73s make it easier for the car to try to push threw the brake. When I had 26" tall tires I couldn't hold much boost at the line but with the 28" I have now it hold more.I think it was roughly 10 to 12 lbs of boost I will try turning the boost down and see what it does. MR spooI have seen your post before about running that time with the ta49 but I was starting to lose faith it would get me anywhere close to that.

What turbo are you running? If it’s stock anything over 20lbs you are just making heat .

Only log from the night It was lean on this pass, and I added fuel after this run

My friends car had that same gear stock motor ported head,on a 28 tall tire,3600 stall 9 art carr nl,11.09@119mph 1.4 60ft.yes ta49have to get the combo dialed in.

He is on a 49,but we ran 11s at 30psi on the stock turbo
Yea from what I have read the stock turbo is just creating heat with anything past 20-23psi . With my stock turbo that seemed to be true as it was way past it’s efficiency at 25psi

Do you think the 3,600 stall helped? I Also have a 3,200 10" I could try to see if it helps the 60FT ?
I ran a 10 inch 3200 but locked up manually in high.9 inch and 10 inch worked great when I ran a12 inch and loosened it the car slowed down.

Well I we actually ran the car at 20, 22, 23,25,28, and 30.we ran alot of meth to bring the temps down but the car went faster.also ed brewer ran all the boost as well, 28psi he was the fastest stocker at 11.3.that record stood forever untill muphster broke it with a lighter car.

You can run more boost with more meth and they usually pickup,if your on race gas i put them at 23/25 psi of boost and nail it with timing.to run 11s at 21 psi at full weight on the stocker we needed 30 degrees of timing.with pump gas meth the boost goes up and the timing drops into the low 20s.the stocker runs fast on meth.
