Body is off. No drama, ebraje cable was biggest PITA. Lift points at front are way sketchy. I will reposition the feet before I play under it. Body bushings actually look decent for 30yrs old. Now to pressure wash and strip all the lines, rear end.

I tell people all the time, odometer readings mean nothing.

The car will be allot closer to the stated millage when your done.

Nice work bro!

Rick

More progress. Set rear section endplay. Installed. Installed direct drum and forward clutch. As well as set band clearence. Center support as well as 4th clutch piston. Assemble overrun/front planetary assy. Waiting on parts to finish up 4th clutch so moved on to case/separator plate as well/valvebody. Notice the plate is scribed "X" and the other letter code is scratched out. Never seen that before. I compared it to NOS "X" plate and it is the same. Lastly I built the pump. Pressed in the new stator support. Test fitted the new deep pan. Thats it for this weekend. :D

Thank goodness no cylinder boring was required
Would not have been as issue if it was. I have a very good machine shop. We have only done about 30 buick v6's over the years. He is trained by now. I am picky. He knows it, in the beginning I had sent a few things back. Every now and then I have a crank that spins too tight after a line hone/bore and I take it back and they get it right.

Todays progress was slow. It was freakin cold in the garage. Too cold to start POR15. Did get the trans installed and tested in my GN. Works very nice. Firm crisp shifts. Convertor from turbobuickperformance. Almost instant spool. Heres a few pics. My trans has the purple servo. Scotts has the black convertor and is way cleaner:) Also here the mod for the 4th gear switch that I stole from a post I saw while back.

Today was family day but I did make a little progress. Washed the chassis with POR15 metal etch. That's why the frame has that whiteish tint. Started POR 15 on the floor pan. Put about 75 miles on the new tranny as well.

Great day in my cars life today. Drive to Lanett Al. to Langley Motors. They ordered and sold the car in 1987. I met Langley Sr. And Jr. Mark jr. Actually drove the car. He remembers it well cause when in lot that night someone tried to steal it. That resulted in a new steering g column and key and that is documented on the paperwork as well. I know have all original order..delivery..bill of sale full docs. On my car. Once Steve V. Is complete w. The restoral plan is to deli er it back to dealer. They are gonna showcase in their floor for awhile and we will have the langley motors men as well as the Original owner Mr. Cromer and myself pictures taken with it. Best yet really hoping Steve V. And my brother Harry. (Also a GN owner) there as well. What a group shot for full to date from beginning to present documentation that will be.

Most of the floor pan has been coated in POR 15. Have to scrub the rear a little bit more to try to get rid of the red clay.
