Gordon is not in the top ten in the points race, is he? Seems to me that his teammate gets the good car, now, and Gordon is left to cruise behind him.

No, after the nudge from Stewart at Dover early in the race he fell out of the top ten. I would expect him to bounce back though. They have to dial in the mile-and-a-half tracks. That seems to be where they fall short. Boy that Biffle sure is hot right now though. I don't have a problem with Biff except that ugly blue oval on the front of his car. The bast dressed cars in NASCAR racing wear a bowtie!
