2020 Optima Invitational at COTA!

Short Guy
This year, with SEMA cancelled, Optima Batteries rented out Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, TX, for the Hi Performance Expo. The Optima Invitational is going to take place, along with a standalone autocross on Sunday with a $25,000 purse, a show and shine, some offroad stuff and roll racing, and a pile of other stuff.

This weekend! Starts Sunday, runs until Tuesday. November 1-3.

I'll be there, albeit in what has worked out to be possibly the fastest street legal Probe currently operating in the states.

Check it out! Due to COVID, no tickets at the gate. You can get them at the website:

If you come, come find me in the OUSCI competitor area, car #428.

Made it!

Also, keyless entry in the car failed, and I had to direct the AAA guy to me from a high vantage point so he could break into my car for me.

I think it's cool for Optima to hold an event like this, and I think it would've been nicer if they'd had this event back in the days when there batteries were actually good batteries. LOL

Hmm. Maybe I’m not getting the whole road racing/ Autocross thing after all?
Is there extra points for moving the cones? Kind of like leaving their shoes- extra 50 points? ;)
