2015 Buick Race Day and BPG to combine Event

Great time, just got everything put away, and plan on sleeping til Friday.
Thats funny, I took the day off shut my phone off and just putting things away .A little fatigued. might take a nap probably wont sleep til Friday but i will try

Had a great time meeting everyone yesterday at the car show and I even got an autograph from @X Ray! Does anyone have a list of the car show winners? Maybe @gbsean?

The 2015 car show was a fantastic success thanks to those who brought a car/cars, volunteers who sacrificed hours of the day to direct traffic and run the registration tent, and to the members of the BOD who contributed to the show! Nothing but positive comments and happy faces at the end of the day. I realize that not everyone got an award, but we did our best to be completely fair and unbiased. Hopefully, that showed. Sorry but the event for October 3 rd has been canceled:

Because of the potential for heavy rain and wind in Northeast Ohio brought on by Hurricane Joaquin, Summit Motorsports Park officials have made the decision to cancel the 25th Annual Toth Buick Race Day, which was scheduled to take place Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015.

But don’t retire to the garage your Grand National, Skylark, Riviera and other Buicks, as there are still track-time opportunities with a test and tune session, Oct. 9, 2015, Fogey Feud, Oct. 10-11, 2015 and the Quick Fuel Technology Halloween Classic XLII presented by Harland Sharp, Oct. 18-25, 2015.

Summit Motorsports Park is at 1300 State Route 18, Norwalk, Ohio. For information, call 419-668-5555 or visit www.summitmotorsportspark.com.

Um the NWS shows the hurricane will be in the middle of the Atlantic on Saturday?

there's more to it than that, if you have towed in the rain that's no fun, and we wanted to make the decision early so the long haulers would not be disappointed if it did rain, which it is now back up to 60% at 10am on Saturday. Alot of folks were not coming, it goes on and on, but it was not an easy decision, either!

Roberta ,I have been watching the weather all week and I know it does not look good thanks for the heads up

I hate to say it because I wanted to go ....but it is a good decision......

I realize that the warmer summer months are not ideal for turbo Buicks, but has anyone given thought to moving Buick Race Day further into the year, and Bowling Green back a few weeks? It might cut down on canceled events, and the attendance may spike up a little since the weather won't look as bleak. Since Ohio has two seasons, April is half winter, and half summer (impossible to predict the weather) and October is the same way....could be 80 and sunny one day and 46 and storming the next day.

Well the weather and racing have never got along and I applaud them for cancelling the race in this time line. Nothing like towing for 6 hours and sitting in the rain:rolleyes: I would sooner sit at home and drink.............pop! The NHRA race is in Reading Penn this weekend and watch the poor sportsman guys pull there motor homes out of the mud when this storm comes to shore. For me this is a hobby and I try not to aggravate myself and driving and sitting in bad weather is just not for me. :confused:Thanks Roberta and everyone who works so hard for these events:cool:
