1998 Pontiac Trans Am
Bright Green Metallic
Automatic with 3.23 rear
95k miles
$7500

I am selling my 1998 Trans Am because I decided I wanted a WS6 and purchased my 2002 WS6 over the winter. I am more than happy with the car but dont need two fourth gen Trans Am's. I am not looking to trades I am looking to put the money from this car towards a C5 Corvette. I originally purchased it August 2009 with 87K miles and it now has 95K. Everything works great including the window motors and headlight gears. I've only used mobile 1 synthetic in it and always put in premium gas. It's been NYS inspected twice since I've owned it and runs excellent.

Last year I had done a bunch of bolt ons, an FLT trans with SS4000 converter, and 3.73 geared 12 bolt. Those parts are now in my '02 WS6 and the stock parts have been reinstalled including the original trans, converter, and rear end. The only modification it has left is Russel braided brake hoses.

A few minor flaws: the ashtray lid hinge is broken, there is a spot on the rear bumper where the clear coat is peeling, and the decal between the tail lights is faded away. According to the GM service records, it has had the passenger side fender and/or door repainted. Overall the car looks very sharp, and I have washed and waxed it regularly.

A little history on the car: It is bright green metallic which is a color only used for just over 2 years of production - 1997, 1998, and a few months of 1999 (discontinued in Oct of 1998). It is 1 of only 98 Trans Am coupes produced in that color for 1998 which is pretty rare and in the time I have owned it I have never seen another one at any event I have attended. I am the third owner, the car was originally sold in South Carolina and then went to a second owner in Florida before a dealer in Pennsylvania picked it up and sold it to me.

I was gathering parts to make it look like a WS6 so I have a perfect OEM WS6 hood. The hood would need to be painted for this car (it is currently navy blue metallic) is for sale for $1000 (I paid over $1100 for it over the winter). The wheels are not something I want to sell so I am not putting a price on them and it would be something that I would discuss with a potential buyer.

Thanks,
Steve

Here are some more pics and some of the issues. The car also has a WS6 front sway bar, as I said I wanted to make it like a WS6 so I was gathering parts and that ended up on the car. Had it out for a ride this morning it's running great and the a/c nice and cold :)
