Hello everybody,

I've decided to put my '87 GN up for sale so I can pursue another interest. I don’t suspect anybody on here would be likely to have the vehicle I’m interested in owning to trade for it so I won’t bother with that here. The pics in my sig are not current--they were taken before I sold the Weld wheels last year and made other changes under the hood. Currently it has the stock wheels back on it, and they’re in nice shape. 63 pictures of the car that I took earlier this week can be found at:

Price is set at $9K. Offers will be considered, and accepted or shot down accordingly. I see there's a lot of people on this board that seemingly have no interest whatsoever in buying a car lashing out at others for setting prices too high or too low; I'm looking for motivated buyers only so if you don't fit that description please do not clutter up my thread. I’m not looking to get rich, nor will I break even on this car—I know what I paid for it and what I have put into it, and how the market is, and what problems the car has (which are all listed below), and based on all those factors I have settled on what I believe to be a fair price. I believe everything I know about this car is laid out in the open in great detail in this post, but anybody that is seriously looking to buy a TR and has any questions can email me at mjpeters@roadrunner.com. Please include a phone number in the email with a time to call if you'd rather talk about it than type back and forth, or if you prefer I can email my number back to you. I would much prefer an email over a PM as I'm more likely to see the email right away since it will also go to my cell phone. I pulled a Carfax report on the car a couple of years ago and it was clean; if potential buyers wish to do it again to verify that be my guest.

THE BAD PARTS:
The car supposedly has 171,586 miles but judging by the condition I and several other TR owners in the area are not 100% convinced that the odometer has rolled over. The title does state that the mileage “exceeds mechanical limits” though. It would really be hard to convince the DMV to change this on the title so I never bothered to try to find any proof to substantiate any suspicion that it has 71,586 actual miles.

It does have a few areas with surface rust, but no holes. Everything is solid on this car--I just got done poking at the rust areas with my fingers to verify this. I don’t know much about bodywork but I don’t think it’s anything that can’t be fixed easily. It is primarily around the rear wheel wells, lower inside edges of the doors, and a small bubble on the lip of the trunk lid right above the passenger’s side tail light. All these areas are shown in the photos except for the driver’s side door since I forgot to take pics of it. It’s not as bad as the passenger side door which is shown in the pics though. Floor pan and trunk pan are in good shape.

As far as the interior goes, the carpet has a couple of wear spots and the driver’s seat has a small tear in one of the seams but other than that it looks nice.

The transmission is slipping on the 2-3 shift when gas pedal is floored. Shifts fine during “normal” driving.
