    N/A Build...PICS INSIDE!

I can't believe it has been almost 5 years since I posted here!! The car isn't dead...actually got it painted last year and contemplating putting a 2004R in it and dropping the rear gear to cruise it more. My favorite local track closed down.

I may be slow to do anything productive on it, but the car is never going to be sold or permanently parked....couldn't get anything for it anyway, and has too many "loaned" parts/labor on it from my dad, haha.

    N/A Build...PICS INSIDE!

My dad took the car to the track last night...couldn't make it with family duties. The report was finally a 14.93 at 90mph...still running a humble 2 barrel. 60' improved, but could probably benefit from some smaller throttle bores to help torque. All in all, I am pleased and will keep...

    N/A Build...PICS INSIDE!

Thread resurrection...I have been working slowly on seemingly insignificant things. Put a new headliner in and finally welded up a seat frame for a poly bucket seat. I want everything to look stock on the surface of the interior, but with some weight saving tricks underneath. My dad had a...

    N/A Build...PICS INSIDE!

The only things I would change for a daily driver would be a touch smaller cam and an overdrive trans. I say go for it...it is easy to spend other people's money, right?

Thanks 85tr...it is a pretty no-nonsense combo built pretty cheap. These parts are a dime a dozen for the most part. It looks like you have improved your combo a bit since running that 15 second quartermile! That is my problem now...to do much more it starts to get exponentially more...

    N/A Build...PICS INSIDE!

15.12 was the best I could muster on Friday. I just sourced some aluminum rear drums, and am going to do the first "real" weight reduction on the car by pulling the bench seat and installing a single poly bucket seat. I am so close to a 14 second pass N/A, but don't have the money at the...

    N/A Build...PICS INSIDE!

There we go....15.12 w/ a 2.08 60ft. Going to give it one more go.

    N/A Build...PICS INSIDE!

Out of the blue, the stars aligned and I was able to make it to the track tonight...car has been sitting untouched through the winter. Didn't even blow the cobwebs off...ha-ha. Two passes in and have run a 15.25 spinning with an awful 2.28 60ft. Waiting for a track cleanup and going to try...

I have always been fascinated by NA V6's in NHRA stock. I would love to know more about those two cars you posted. I would guess since they are 4.1's they at least run a 4 barrel Q-jet. Probably a well engineered cheater cam, loose tolerances, compression, custom headers, a lot of gear and...

    My blow thru build

Looks great, this is kind of where I think I am headed with my build at some point. I bit the bullet and built the block the best I could afford at the time, and am glad I did. Keep us in the loop on the build progress. Would love to hear some 1/4 mile times too!

    N/A Build...PICS INSIDE!

A few more timing tweaks, down to 15.10 at 89mph in 80 degree weather. Life is crazy with my 4 kiddos 7yrs and under so my dad has been having fun tweaking it in my absence. I would like to get it in the 14's N/A and still nearly full weight. We might accomplish this simply with cooler weather.

    N/A Build...PICS INSIDE!

EK02, that is great advice. I had decided on the Super Power Shot kit, or the Sniper (not sure of the differences). I only would probably do 100, to 150max. I do have a high output mechanical pump on it, but was curious if there should be a supplemental electric pump to run the fuel...

    N/A Build...PICS INSIDE!

Thats the plan...100 to 150. I want to work out all the NA bugs first...only taken about 7 or 8 years...haha. Thankfully my dad has had an itch to work on it lately.

    N/A Build...PICS INSIDE!

Updating the thread for posterity...after the change to a 500 2bbl, weight reduction in the bumpers, and proper distributor. Went consistent 15.20's at 87mph, with 2.05 60ft.

    Before Black BS'ing thread.

Car did well and ran very smooth. VERY consistent 15.20's at 87mph. 2.05 60' as well. Not stellar, but not bad for an all steel, full interior car. A few more cheap/easy tricks to try to get it in the 14's. I am sure it could stand with more gear and converter, but that will have to stay...

    Before Black BS'ing thread.

It's been forever since I posted in here, but wanted to check back in and see what's going on. Still have the '81 N/A Regal and it still in basically the same setup. My dad is retired and has been messing with the Regal (minor/hidden weight reduction, and tying up loose ends), while I have...

    Before Black BS'ing thread.

Popping back in after a long hiatus. 3 kids 5 years old and under will do that to you...all boys too. No new news on the Regal, just another year older. Need to finish getting un-noticeable weight out of the car and get back to the track. Anybody want to babysit?

Not your typical "pick my turbo" thread

I actually have a stock 84/85 cam from when the motor was yanked...thanks for the offer though! I initially built the engine as N/A, hence the cam choice...just seeing if I could make it work. I do routinely shift at 6200-6300 with no sign of valve float. It has the heavy duty single springs...

Not your typical "pick my turbo" thread

The converter already stalls around 3400...I know the cam isnt ideal, really just trying to work with what I have already and select a turbo that best fits...knowing it wont be ideal.
