Replaced A/C compressor, now car won't start

That's what it was. When I called him this morning he'd already figured it out and had the car running. Thanks for your input!

Replaced A/C compressor, now car won't start

The subject line about covers it, but here's the backstory. The clutch on the A/C compressor locked up. I disconnected the pressure switch so i wouldn't accidently turn the A/C on while driving (not that I would, but just to be careful) and drove the car fine for a couple of weeks (good...

    ECM connections corroded/broken

I ordered a reman unit. Get it tomorrow. We'll see how that works out. I figured if it was so rusty that it was steel and copper corroding that I was better off just replacing the thing. Oh, and in answer to BlackBandit, I'm located in Missouri.

    ECM connections corroded/broken

Car: 1986 Turbo Regal. The 16 pin male connector (the longer of the two) in the ECM is badly corroded and pin #16 (upper left) is actually rusted through, broken off (see picture), and stuck in the wiring harness hole for pin #16. The question is, if I take the cover off the computer, can I...

Turbo Buick on a car lot in Muskogee, OK

Hey, anybody from Muskogee, OK out there? I was driving through on the way home to Missouri and spotted a TR of some kind (Grand National maybe, year unknown) on a car lot. Right as I came into town from the south on Highway 69, right side of the road. Anybody know anything about the car...

    Win ALDL and USB

OK, I've used WIN ALDL on my '87 TR back when I had it, and it worked well for what it is (free). I had TurboLink, which worked better, but I don't have Turbolink any more as I sold it with my car--and I gave away my WIN ALDL cable. But I still have the instructions and leftover parts, so I made...

    Hi

Hey Matt, this is your Dad... (Just an FYI for anyone reading this, Matt grew up watching me wrench on my '87 TR and take it from a 14 second stocker to 12.3 (quickest) and 114mph (fastest). Should of been able to run high 11's but I could never find enough traction. I sold the car over a...

    Delay going into reverse

What does it mean when the transmission doesn't go into reverse when you initially put the shifter in reverse? If you just leave it there (in reverse) it suddenly engages after a time (up to about 45 seconds or so max) and moves just fine--no apparent slippage or anything. In drive it engages...

    Intermittent trans failure?!

Howdy! I had a new trans put in my 1994 Bonneville SSEi. It worked fine for about a week, then, after driving it about 20 miles it started slipping so bad it wouldn't move--actually felt like it was in neutral. After cooling down it engaged fine for two laps around a small parking lot and then...

Trans problems with supercharged Pontiac Bonneville

Howdy! I had a new trans put in my 1994 Bonneville SSEi. It worked fine for about a week, then, after driving it about 20 miles it started slipping so bad it wouldn't move. After cooling down it engaged fine for two laps around a small parking lot and then began slipping again--like it was...

I entered by sending $5.00. However the e-mail address I use for paypal is different than the one I'm registered with here. Will that disqualify my entry? I guess I can always register twice here. Keith

    WOT TCC lock up problems

quote: "Locking it at the starting line is totally counter productive, ESPECIALLY with a single disc unit that cant possibly stand up to that kind of abuse." end quote Dave, while the TCC works well in 3rd gear the way you suggest, I don't get the addded oomph through second gear. On the...

And I thought I had the only one in town...

Anybody drive through the backroads of Lebanon, Missouri yesterday in a Grand National? I spotted one and we exchanged waves. I thought I had the only turbo Buick in town! Or in a 30 mile radius. Keith

    boost

You should be able to get boost by "brake torqueing," as you described. How much are you revving the engine? You have to rev it up quite a bit. If it's just a little, you probably won't see much boost.

Fuel pressure cuts out & car dies

I had this exact same symptom.... which doesn't mean my problem was the same, but who knows? In the weather-pack connection to the fuel pump (back by the gas tank) one of the pins had worked loose and pulled away from its connection. If I remember correctly there are three pins in that...

    Boost vs. power problem

Laziness. Just haven't gotten around to it. And alky injection pressure is easy because it's a pressurized system (air pressure) of my own invention. It works and I don't have to worry about alcohol-compatible pumps. I've had it on for about 9 years now with no functionality problems. Keith
