    Lithium Battery

I am also interested in getting one of these Antigravity batteries. I was thinking about the larger size Group 24, 40Ah=1500CA battery. However, if people are having success with the much smaller ones, that would be great. Maybe more people that's used any lithium battery will chime in.

Ok everybody let's start a pic post thread for the W-Bodies!

I still have my H body L67 swapped LeSabre T-Type. Bought it in 2010 and swapped over a complete Bonneville SSEi drivetrain. Has GN badges just because I can. :)

    Oil Pump Locked Up

Yes I did. I took his idea and made a hybrid cover back in 2005. It had some initial problems that I had to overcome to get it set up right. One problem I had was not with the cover but with how I fit the hub of the balancer into the gerotor gear. I tried to just shorten the balancer and use a...

    Swapped to a 4L80E

I like the trans mount you had done with the stock crossmember. Makes me want to rethink what I've done. It would definitely save me some weight. The trans dip stick you suggested further up hugs the transmission really good...I bought one. I also saw the modded extension housing you have for a...

    Swapped to a 4L80E

An offset mount was a consideration but when I got to looking at it, one of the bolt holes for the rubber mount would wind up directly underneath the extension housing. You would need a thick offset bracket so you'd have enough threads to get the rubber mount bolted on. Since there's limited...

How to coolant line under turbo

This is what I have done. Loosen the cold side of the turbo just enough to allow it to rotate clockwise until you can get the hose on the water pump nipple. Then rotate it back around while checking for pinching. My hose has been touching the turbo for 15 years and has a squished spot on it with...

    Swapped to a 4L80E

The trans mount holes did fall on top of the cross member but not exactly in the middle. As far as the bracket I fabbed up...it's a V shaped bracket like the one that Chuck made. It seemed like it was the easiest way to get the factory crossmember to work. I had to cut off the original...

    Swapped to a 4L80E

I'm in the process of doing the swap too. Here's how I done the shift linkage for a column shifter.

800+ Wheel HP - What bottom end is needed that's reliable?

I appreciate the replies. Here's what I decided the new build will look like. Hopefully, it will get 700-800 *reliable* wheel horsepower with room to grow in the future. TA Aluminum Block with 3.980" bore (270 cubic inches) 3.625" billet stroker crank 6.3" billet rods Forged pistons with 20cc...

800+ Wheel HP - What bottom end is needed that's reliable?

That's basically what I have in mind but knowing the engine has a crank that's about at its limit would worry me some. I've seen some vendor advertise a stroker crank that's a 1200hp crank. Is that the one you've got?

800+ Wheel HP - What bottom end is needed that's reliable?

I may not need 800-1000rwhp to run mid 9's but I might want 1000whp in the future. I'm just looking for a solid bottom end for another 10 years. Car is 3600lbs. My weak link at the moment is the 200-4R. Front suspension is all QA1 tubular with double adjustable QA1 coil-overs. Rear suspension is...

800+ Wheel HP - What bottom end is needed that's reliable?

I'm looking for some feedback on some parts that people are using for their engines these days. My current engine made 580-600WHP and lasted 16 years before wiping a cam lobe. I never went into the bottom end of it. I'm about to build another reliable bottom end with the possibility to grow into...

    Turbine Backpressure

Here's a follow up on exhaust system back pressure instead of pre-turbine backpressure. I wanted to see how much my exhaust actually has. I installed a pressure sensor on the downpipe about 1 foot after the turbo. At 30psi of boost, it has 8psi of exhaust back pressure. That's pretty high IMO...

    Turbine Backpressure

My two changes I was thinking before posting a question was to try a slightly larger cam or a newer turbo. My converter is a 17 blade PTC non-lock. The Gen2 6870 seems to an old turbo that was released a decade ago. Has the aftermarket gave up on the Turbo Buick?

    Turbine Backpressure

The injector duty cycle does increase with boost pressure. Around 60% at 21psi of boost, 69% at 26psi & 80% at 30psi. The turbo housing is the typical 3 Bolt Buick.

    Turbine Backpressure

Judging from this screenshot of my data log, what would be the things to check to reduce pre-turbo exhaust manifold backpressure? At 26psi of boost I'm seeing 40-43lbs before the turbo and at 30psi of boost I'm seeing 53-55psi of backpressure. The turbo is a PT70-GTQ DBB with a .85 exh housing...

    Turbobuick.com app

My bad. I missed the part where you said the turbo had about an 1/8th inch of in & out play. If that's the case the turbo is toast. It should have next to none. So winding the turbo up and getting the exhaust side really really hot, it was burning off the excess oil and that's what you are...

If you still have the original valve cover to turbo inlet breather hooked up, then (most likely) that's where your oil is coming from inside the intercooler. Of course, the compressor seal could be leaking but that would not cause the trail of smoke you describe when decelerating. The piping...

    Smoke on startup

One way to determine if it's the intake valve stem seals is to remove the upper plenum and see if there's oil puddled/running on top of a closed intake valve. Remove the plenum before the car sits for a long time so you can go check it from time to time. If it's leaking on the exhaust side...
