GBODY Parts lower door panels for aftermarket speakers

What 5-1/4's are you running? Did you run into any depth problems? Apparently some speakers have deeper baskets and/or magnets requiring the doors to be modified to get the speakers to fit.

GBODY Parts lower door panels for aftermarket speakers

Looking for feedback...... Saw 2 different versions...... Version 1 is for installing 1 5-1/4" speaker in a location similar to the CSII. It says you can modify the panel to accept a 6-1/2" speaker. No cutting of your door required. Version 2 is similar to version 1 except you can install 2...

    Internal wastegate vs external

Depends on what you are after.... if you don't plan to launch at the same boost every time.... and at WOT.......and you are more of a hobby racer/street car guy.... internal will work okay. If you want to launch at 10 psi (or any boost you select) every time..... without worring about it...

    engine is out.......again......

I don't remember. It was a stock turbo crank on stock reconditioned rods. I tend to agree with Earl on side clearance of rods.

    engine is out.......again......

Exactly. I ended up with a stroker motor with GN1 heads instead and a girdle. So I upgraded while I had the chance.

    engine is out.......again......

No, when my machinist bored out the #2 cam journal hole to accept the oversize bearing, all 4 cam journal holes were no longer in a line....and apparently #2 was egg shaped a little. Later, when the machine shop that eventually removed those cam bearings to line bore the cam journals discovered...

    engine is out.......again......

As a matter of fact, I did Bob. Can't remember all the details I put in this thread.... and I am too lazy to reread it tonight. When I first built the motor, all the machine work was done fresh. I had the whole ball of wax done. Cleaned, degreased, shot blasted, line bore/hone after steel caps...

You can disagree all u want, I've seen and heard 10 sec cars thru the mufflers with stock or near stock camshaft....they don't lope at idle.... Sounds like a near stock car. It should go without saying I'm talking turbo V6 Buicks. No offense taken.

You sound more like a 12 sec guy to me.... I'd do the chip, injectors, and get the car running right with what you have.... I'd look into a translator and a LS1 MAF meter or even consider a speed density chip and do away with the mass air all together. The stock MAF is sort of small... And they...

You really need to establish a goal for ET.... It is much easier to recommend an orchestra of parts that work well together to have the potential to get you where you want to be. IMHO, you can go mid 11's fairly easy and not spend $5k doing it. The motors will live for a good while with proper...

I agree with Earl.... A good chip from Eric Marshall or Bob Bailey will do wonders. Again, as Earl said, consider buying a new set of injectors (60's) and a matching chip would probably help matters tremendously. I assume u are using a Scanmaster for your scan tool? I guess I should ask what...

Could be..... Mine will wander up that high sometimes before my Tstat opens. It usually will settle back in the mid 160's until motor gets real heat soaked. He might still have the stock Tstat. Not even sure what temp it is... 180? 195?

Earl, 189 isn't abnormal? Or did I miss something?

Several things could cause the car to stumble on initial acceleration. Fuel pressure falling off is one. TPS is another. If it isn't climbing as u give it gas, the ECU doesn't know you are giving it any gas. Bad MAF is one. If the MAF numbers aren't climbing quickly as you give it gas, the...

Yes, vac line off. Vacuum will pull the fuel pressure down and if u adjust it with the line on and car idling, you will be too high. Yes 43 psi with the vac line off is what you want.

Fuel pressure should be 43 psi with the vacuum line off the top of the FP Reg. Do you know if the TPS numbers climb steady as you give it gas? Do the AF numbers climb when you rev the motor?

    Tuning with Otto

I have utmost respect for Otto. He has been there and done that and has the t-shirt. I too am glad he resurfaced. I just wish he would move South!

That's normal.. Does the TPS value climb as you apply the gas? (you can do this with the engine off, key on, and watching the SM)
