    Here is a photo showing how the belt wants to overlap the back of the pulley; as soon as I crank it, the belt jumps out of the first groove closest to the fan. It appears that the crank pulley is about a quarter inch further out than the other pulleys now.

    Now that I have identified my serpentine belt killer as the crankshaft pulley, I noticed in the old GM engine drawing for the 87 that there is a 'crankshaft pulley hub' between the pullley and the balancer. Has anyone ever replaced this part, and what is it made of?

    Put a new tensioner assembly on, another Dayco belt (kept my new Gates belt for later), cranked up and all seemed fine. Drove about 12 miles to gas station, everything still fine. About 5 miles from the house on the way back, I heard the new belt start to separate again. Made it to the house...

    My old 87 GN with high miles has been idling poorly as of late. When I start engine, it will idle normal for about 30 seconds, then will drop off and shut off if I don't keep gas to it. Once it does warm up enough to idle without me putting gas to it, it still goes up and down. Anyone knows...
