    1968 Buick Riviera

430 V8, TH400 trans, 12 bolt rear. Runs and drives but needs work. Trunk is fairly solid, but the rear footwell on the drivers side needs new metal welded in. Also needs new rear brake lines after the splitter. Had a moron flatbed operator tow the car and he broke the brake line and bent the...

No love for the hot airs

I gotta say, I'm starting to get annoyed with the lack of appreciation for the hot air cars. Nobody wants a hot air car, even if it's not hot air anymore. I get people responding to my ad (on FB marketplace) saying they'll show up with cash and buy it for my asking price, then they realize...

    I need a piston and connecting rod for a 1984 T Type

Yup, just one, stock. I got a piston whose wrist pin boss has crapped the bed and it sounds bad, and it's retarding the ignition due to the knock. I would prefer a piston and connecting rod from the driver's side bank so I don't have to reorient the piston on the rod. Anybody got one laying...

    knock knock.....who's there?

Ok, so about 2 weeks ago I was on a short drive over to a friends house to drop off some stuff, and the round trip is about 3 miles. When I was leaving I noticed a knocking sound at part throttle. it doesn't make the sound at idle, and I kept it out of boost once I heard it and limped it home...

Help! Caspers ccci kit not right

I bought the ccci Hotwire kit from Caspers that is specifically for installing the '86-'87 module and coil into my '84. Got it all installed, even added extra grounds to the bracket and it runs really rough. Pops and shuts off as if the firing order is wrong? Am I supposed to be using the old...

Anybody in the Lehigh Valley area that can help a brother out?

I've been having real bad luck diagnosing a miss on this T type and I think it may be the MAF sensor, but I wanted to see if anyone had a known good one for me to try before I shell out big bucks on a new MAF and translator. I live about 15 minutes north of LVI Airport (Formerly ABE).

Scanmaster G not reading anything right.

Got it hooked up but the readings make no sense. At idle it's telling me that the MAF is 0, the LV8 is 30 ish, volts are 0, INT is 0, BLM's are 0, speed is 72 mph (I'm sitting still), coolant is -40 (it's 80f outside), air temp is 0, rpm is 1625 (more like 800), tops is 5V, IAC is 0, 02cc is 0...

Hot air to intercooled...tuning after the fab work.

Just completed the fabrication portion of my 1984 T Type build, now for the tedious stuff. Fabrication portion can be seen here http://www.turbobuick.com/threads/1984-t-type-build-thread-fabrication-based.452017/ Right now the car has a weak pump. I hear it cycle when I turn the key, but I'm...

The seat thread. What do you use and why?

My stock seats are really comfy, but as they are bench seats, provide no lateral support. Also, they are only 41K miles old and have been taken care of so I'd like to keep them that way. I plan on removing them, wrapping them in plastic and storing them and putting a decent set of seats in...

    Any CZ fans here?

I love my CZ75C, and once I have the Buick finished and can save up for a P07, I'm getting one!

1984 T Type build thread (fabrication based)

I'll be posting pictures and progress on my t type over the 4 day weekend I have coming up here. The story on the car is that it sat for a couple decades after the original owner passed away and his wife just kept it hidden away. Finally, she was ready to part with it and drug it out and...

Torquing the hard to reach head bolt...

it seems to me that all the head bolts are super easy to get to, save for one. Head gasket jobs on these cars could be an afternoon job (if you didn't have to get the heads milled or block decked) if it wasn't for one stinking bolt. I must have spent an hour and a half on the passenger side...

I'm a total newbie to turbo Buicks!

I'm definitely not a newbie to turbo cars, but I just got my first Turbo Buick, an '84 T-Type. Traded my '92 Vette for it. So far I've ripped the top end apart to discover blown head gaskets. Luckily, it was leaking combustion gases into the lifter valley and not making a coolant/oil...
