Sometimes the smallest fixes make the biggest difference. This car has been hard to cold start for 10 years now and we never figured it out. Thought it was the fuel pressure regulator. No. Thought it was some sort of position sensor on the front. Never got around to messing with it. Maybe the...

Yeah I was honestly considering just doing that in my garage with CMX or something which I've heard good stuff about. I think it was in this thread (It's been split for me- anything prior to last year is a separate thread now) someone recommended Turtle Wax's Acrylic Black (or Jet Black at the...

All cleaned up! Used Meguiar's Gold. Foamed it and rinsed it 3 times before using the wash mitt on the 4th foam, then foamed it again. No kill like overkill! Took it up to work afterwards because one of the detailers wanted to see it all shined up. He's got an '84 Monte SS. Decided to let...

Think you misunderstood- I've always hand washed it, but I want to try to simply soak it with my foam cannon a few times and rinse it. Had a couple people tell me that scrubbing it in its' current condition isn't the best idea. Of course, if soaking it doesn't work then the wash mitt will come...

Being that I'm still very new to wrenching, I didn't realize you could just replace the bolts in the terminals. That was a much easier fix than I anticipated. Roll on! Will probably touchless wash it Tuesday (supposed to be like 64 here) and get some pictures of it as shiny as it can be with the...

I'll have to remember that. Currently, it's very dirty so I need to wash it at least once and then try to stay on top of it.

Thankfully it was only in the snow long enough to race it home and stick it in the garage, so about 10 minutes. Didn't even accumulate, may as well have been rain, which was fine because I still haven't washed it. The paint has gotten so thin I dread every wash. And nothing holds onto dirt like...

Apparently seeing snow (but no salt thank God) pissed the car off because either the positive terminal on the battery, or the bolt on the cable stripped- Haven't been able to look close yet. Long story as to why I disconnected it in the first place (Hint: paranoia about somebody messing with it)...

We're road legal! Still taking it easy on it til it goes to the shop, and making a list of things it needs. I forgot how good these cars actually drive and can't wait til it's healthy enough to give judicious applications of throttle Would it be possible to have this moved the member's rides...

Two months later and it lives again... sort of. Seems to have a small oil leak up by the turbo and I'm thinking one of the injectors (at least) is leaky because you can smell raw fuel when ever it gets revved. Not to mention idling for a half hour moved the needle from over to under 1/2 tank. I...

I didn't mean to imply you were. I was just aware that the confederate flag stirs up a lot of mixed feelings so I wanted to put that disclaimer out in general towards everybody since they were visible on that Camaro :)

The ones on the doors say BUICK. He had similar ones on his 83 Z28 (this car was bad ass. Decided, even after upgrades, that the 305/700R4 was just too slow and put a 383 and manual valve body TH350 in it. Sadly, it burned to the ground one day and that's why we have the Foxbody. He loved this...

It's just some stick on that says Limited Edition. I don't know if my grandfather put it on, or if the dealership did to try and make it look more special.

And from when it came home from storage in either 2009 or 2010. And from a month or so ago when I washed it. Reminder that I do have new fillers in the trunk.

Well, it's been two years. Time for an update. First and foremost: Pappaw has passed on. March 14th 2022. He was 70 and this family is worse off without him. Onto the GN. It's not mine, but it is staying in the family, as it's going to my aunt. So what happened to it the last 2 years...

Well, that was depressing. Last year the car developed a whistling noise under WOT. I don’t mean the normal turbo sound either. So I replaced the hoses on the pipe that runs from the intercooler to the throttle body. Didn’t make a difference. Today, I replaced the one that connects the turbo...

Gave it the first bath yesterday. Took it to my buddy's house and he schooled me a bit. There's no saving the paint on the hood, it's the dreaded cracking. Shame. Drove pretty good, I still have to replace that hose, and I'm thinking the accumulator ball on the brakes is gonna have to be swapped...

I've replaced the ones on the up pipe, so the other two are probably the culprit. I think I have spares laying around for the other two. How hard are they to replace?

Okay, this is perplexing, but hell, I'll take it! Got it fired up recently. Alternator is charging it fine, and the canister doesn't seem to be affecting it. I'll take it! (I'm still keeping the new ones as spares) HOWEVER, it whistles bad under full throttle. I'm trying to get Pap to drive it...

There's a good chance of it, but I might not be in the National this year (I had it at Telegraph last summer, it was pretty fun!) I'd rather be in this, if I'm honest. I'll daily the GN and take this to cruises.
