    Gm stop making 1987 Black Turbo Regal T's with the blackout package (WO2 option) after Nov 1986 . give or take a month , there is a gm memo to about this . There are very few 1987 Turbo Regals , black on black with chrome bumpers . Mark

    Incorrect again , see your 1ST post and the first reply to the OP question . (Quote = Heads don't lift. :rolleyes: END Quote) You are wrong on both accounts , your heads do lift under boost as do every other stock 3.8 turbo buick v-6 . May be you should think before you post:eek:

    Cyl heads DO lift under cyl presure even without detonation . Would not normally cause a blown head gasket , with normal cyl presures , but the heads lift , gaskets scrub , ect ect , More head bolts , stiffer/thicker cyl heads will keep head lifting to a min. Mark

    If the cam sensor moves out of adjustment (more than alittle ) while engine is running the ignition timing will be way off , hence the big backfire . the cam sensor is referenced evey 2 engine revoloutions in relation to ignition timing , fuel puddling is not the cause of the backfire.

    WRONG backfire is not from fuel puddling , it is an ignition backfire , I will let you draw your own conclusions as to why the engine backfires when the cam sensor ring breaks and moves inside the cap Mark

    A broken cam sensor ring will throw timing off , as it rotates out of postion it will cause a major backfire . Common issue with a roller cam motor. Not sure that is what cause the damage , will need to look at all the damage after full teardown. Mark
