    Alcohol properties

Here is a post contributed by Steve Wood and contains materials from several sources. Great for anyone that is looking for some sound theory, and a peek at what Steve Yaklis is doing with alchy. It is interesting as to how much alchy he sprays (18 percent of the final mix) and the way he drops...

Alchy diagram up un web site

What the Heck, I figure 5 bucks a month is worth it. :) You can right click on the diagram and save it to your desktop, then view, it with a viewer (if you have one) or grab it with some digital photo software, or just print it out on an 8X 10. Sheesh I tried a couple sites, but they...

Oops, the link doesn't work anymore. I'm working on it.... I am excited about this system I'm building, and thought I would share the inner workings of it with yous guys. :) All suggestions and comments are welcome. I will be trying this out monday (hopefully). The soldering is nearly...

? hook up a seventh injector

Actually I'm hooking up a 'speed valve' for alchy injection. I assume that it would be safe to hook it up just like a seventh inj.? I plan on running it off a hobb switch. Positive voltage through the hobb to the pulsing solenoid (speed valve), and the ground will tie into to the ground side...

    Diy alchy Basics for beginners

I'm bored, and awake at 4:30 AM, to here is some basic information for those just learning about alchy systems... Components: Tank: could be the overflow tank, of windshield tank. Anything that will safely hold an alcohol mixture will do. Pump: Shurflo, or Flojet. Both handle denatured...

Putting the translator plus into open loop?

I know that in order to put the cal pack into open loop, one removes the calibration chip, turns the ignition on for 20 seconds (1 second?) turn off, insert the cal. chip and you are good to go. Apparently this is just for the idle mode? I want to run open loop all the time. Is this how it...

Do we even need bottle warmers?

A quick E-Mail to www.importpoweronline and the response I got back was that they were not needed as their kits work fine down to 80 PSI. Is it true that the output of the system depends on the regulator, and not the regulator? I guess so that's prolly why they call it a regulator...:)...

    Performance, Horsepower, Injector chart

Here is a great link. I like to post this every once in a while... http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/misc/lubrant.html Many thanks to Steve Wood for locating this for me. He's 'fast with class' and a crass a$$...;) (J/KSteve)

Lost Joe Lubrant's Horsepower/quarter mile time chart

I'm sure that someone knows what I am talking about. Horsepower to weight, quarter mile times. All in one nice easy chart. Please someine post this link. I can't find it!! It goes something like www.gnttype.org/techarea/lubrant.html...

    Injecting alchy Pre-intercooler

Here is an idea that is worth looking at. Joritman and I have been discussing this in another thread (propane) And I didn't want to divert the thread off it's subject anymore so I'm transferring the thread to here. Here is most of it: joereitman Junior Member Registered: Sep...

Let's hear it from the NOS guys!

Title says it all! :) How about addiding to our data base in one thread? I'd like to copy and paste this, and have it handy for future reference. I'd like to hear about: (1) Performance gains before, and after. Quarter mile times if possible. (2) Where you inject. (I'm wondering if...

    Picture of smaller propane tank

Ok guys I have finally found a way to show you a picture of the smaller propane tank I found. I bought 7 of these tanks and now want to get my money back (ok I will make a tiny bit for the time spent shipping them ;)) Here is the link, and the picture. Note that the tank in the picture is in...

    Propane kit is in! And....

I was going to wait until tomorrow, but I couldn't stand the suspense any longer. I got home at 4:30, and had everything in at 8:30. Tank pressure was 60 lbs. I cranked the needle valve one turn, and took a quick run to see where the Hobbs switch was set to come on. It was activating at 9 psi...

Update on adding a 2 stage to SMC, and more

I have posted this in the tech. area, and remembered I promised to report the results of going to a 2 stage set-up with my SMC kit. Also I am going to combine the propane kit from Power Imports with my SMC kit. I converted the SMC today to a 2 stage system today. I went with aquamist...

Time to replace the power window motors

It's time to replace the power windows. (Drivers side is totally dead now) Here is a copy of an article that was intended to be poster on www.gnttype.org, but never got there concerning replacing the original motors, with the faster ones. It would be great to do this, and retain the original...

    Adding Aquamist Nozzles to SMC?

Two questions here. Would it be worth it? Has anbybody tried this yet? I know that Steve offers a dual nozzle set-up. I don't know what size nozzles (in diameter) they are. I am guessing that he does not use (Aquamist) in the original kit, as it would be too costly. Does anybody know...

Guys running pump gas, and alum heads

My main question is this: What timing are you running. I tried to stay with 21* but cranking the timing to 25* really allows me to chew up the gas. I'm staying with 94 sunoco..... I don't think the cylinder temps are hot enough even yet. Adding a tiny bit of alchy seems to bog the engine...

    Track results

Well I'm happy with the 60' times (1.7, 1.8's) but 13.1 @ 99 mph, (@ 18 psi.) is a tad slow for this combination, even with pump gas. Ed Baker and friend Steve were there, and helped out a bit. (thanks guys!) We upper the FP, and tried a Lubrant chip. Ed has an impressive chip collection...

http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/misc/lubrant.html I like to post this once a year. There is a lot of information here, but I have never been able to pull it up on a search of the site.
