Pic of a Camshaft Roller Sprocket please

Tg you found it. This is what destroyed my 274" S2 engine after swapping in a larger cam with engine in the car (sigh). It had about .005" clrnc so wasn't obvious when I turned it over by hand. And obviouly forgot about this issue. Oops. First time wound up to 6500 at full power and.. ka-chunk...

Got a mail asking about the car recently. Car sold in Sept of last year (Sept 2010). TurboTR

    Cam selection

Well, pretty much like any other engine, the cam needs to be sized for what you plan to do for optimal results. Do you plan to shift at 6000, or? As the car gets faster it wants to rpm more through the traps too. So gear ratio, cam, converter all play a roll here. A 28" tire with 3:42 rear makes...

XFI knock retard: values that match GM setup

If it's a GM knock sensing setup like used on the GN's, the sensor itself is basically just a piezo microphone that feeds an external interface and processing module (the GM ESC module). The ESC module decides whether or not the sensor is hearing knock, and then if so it signals the ECU by...

9 sec very nice, collectible '87 Turbo T for sale

Yah, no worries. Plenty of tire kickers and trawlers, but some serous buyers just need lots of good info to make up their minds, make sure the car is right for them. I can relate, it can be difficult to decide on purchasing a long distance vehicle. But things just come up too, I guess that's...

    spark ignition dwell time

Thanks Chris. My guess is, the coil packs tend to go south faster when they are made to misfire more and/or deliver max secondary voltage. The plug gap gets harder to jump with increasing load, which drives the secondary inductive voltage higher before the arc over starts across the gap. In your...

    spark ignition dwell time

Well the problem is, with a single EST line to command the dwell and firing events, you don't just have less time for dwell as rpm climbs, you actually wind up with insufficient time to dwell. Whether you have command of the dwell or not, there is just not enough time available to dwell 3 coils...

    spark ignition dwell time

With the stock ignition you have to realize the physical dwell limits imposed with climbing rpm and adjust the plug gaps down to compensate for weaker spark there. Think I used to run like .025 or .028 with 30 psi. But would also shift by about 6500 too. It worked, but the plugs needed to be...

I need the FAST tuners to weigh in and help me out.

Yes something's a bit out of whack in the explanation of AE vs %TPS there. I agree with John, think the help file is right. The easiest to understand analogy is the carb mechanical accel pump, which the rest of that paragraph alludes to: "...This could be compared to the volume of fuel in an...

    Knock Sensor & TA block

That was my experience too basically with solid lifters. It may in fact be running fine at high load, but don't expect to use the knock system to tell you yes or no on that in my opinion. TurboTR

    Knock Sensor & TA block

Well it's not really added insurance because it doesn't work right. False triggers at part throttle, then goes silent at WOT when you need it (lol). The factory supercharged '03-'04 Cobras don't have knock sensors, nor even the boss cast on the block for the sensor if I recall. Same problem-...

Fuel distribution issues with alky injection right before TB?

The unpopular answer is- yes, you will probably have serious distribution problems by trying to move liquid equally through a dry flow manifold. The more you have to rely on it percentage-wise, the more serious the potential danger will be. One thing you could do is, add a dye to the...

In that 10.28 youtube vid? None. Just the 2nd test pass with the new 4.5L engine. Had an old q-trim T76 on it and a small 224 SR cam at that point. 30+ psi boost. The 242 cam dropped the boost down to 26 psi. TurboTR
