    Anyone Speak German (old)

Long story short - while cleaning out my in-laws house we came across an old family bible with a lot of notes in it. By the dates, it looks like mid to late 1800's, but it is all in german. Here's an example of one of the pages. Anyone here translate??? I can email the photos to anyone...

    Muffler Bearings going out?

www.kalecoauto.com has some replacement muffler bearings. Also alot of other hard to find parts, such as an adjustable power band and cross drilled brake lines. I personally like the piston return spring - http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=12&products_id=49

    Spool Time

So I went all out.... I installed an AMS1000 boost controler w/co2, along with an external gate downpipe, and PTE 46mm wategate (thanks for getting me everything so fast Hartline!!). This way I can run a light spring in the wastegate and have some CO2 on top of it to limit myself to 6psi boost...

    surging while cruising

Still have an EGR valve? This can cause a surge at cruise as well.

Thanks kidglok, I'll play with it and see how that does.

So, in a simplified setup - I could run an external gate with a 6 lb spring, then run a regulated pressure source from a CO2 bottle at 19psi to the top of the wastegate through a solinoid valve activated by the tranny brake. Get on brake, boost up to the 6psi wastegate, then when tranny brake...

    Spool Time

As for as I know, you cannot control boost lower than your actuator / wastegate spring. If I'm wrong, pls let me know!!

    Spool Time

At 6 psi, it 60's at 1.55. At 9 psi it has gone 1.48 I just want to max out boost for a given RPM on the 2 step, and be able to reach that boost level in 3 secs or so..... Trying to get a consistant and repeatable 60' no matter how long I'm on the brake. Yes, I'm pulling timing via 2...

    Boost at the line

Yes, I'm pulling timing via 2 step. I'm going to run some tests this weekend to see what spools better, retarded timing vs advanced timing and rich vs lean. I'm also curious to see if setting the 2 step rpm to the stall speed of the converter changes anything. I just want to max out boost for...

    Spool Time

I believe boost contol that low would require a boost controller with an external boost reference source such as the AMS1000 with CO2 and an external waste gate setup (if I understand everything correctly). I'm kinda hoping I can find something a little less involved (and a little cheaper :) )

Givin the following setup - Bailey's 2-Step set to 2600 rpm Stage right tranny brakeAny PTC 2800 stall Fast XFI engine management What's going to spool up the turbo faster: retarded timing / rich mixture retarded timing / lean mixture advanced timing / rich mixture advanced timing / lean...

    Boost at the line

Brakes wont hold any boost. I have seen 9 lbs at that RPM. The difference between 6psi and 9 psi is the difference between a 1.51 and a 1.70 60 ft time. When I'm the slower car, and leave first, I can be pretty consistant by going WOT when my opponent lights his second stage light, but...

    Boost at the line

I'm working on my 60 as well. While the two step helped greatly, I find that if I immediatly go to WOT on the 2-step and t-brake when I light the 2nd stage light, I barely have enough time to build 6psi before the "go" light. I have a realatively small turbo (GT6162) and a PTC 2800 stall. I...

    New PB

The summit series is 1/8 mile brackets, street class, footbrake (pro), and electronics (super pro). Don did retire, and we do have a new manager at the track. The jury's still out on that one.... The entire division is 1/8 mile since it would be "unfair" for the 1/8 mile only tracks to...
