    1989 Turbo Trans Am - 75K miles

A classic car importer from Poland called and was going to wire a deposit, but I had just got off the phone with a guy from California who wired me a deposit. I've had deals with deposits fall through in the past, but the California buyer has a plane ticket to Dallas. Weather should be perfect...

    Still having some oversteer

You could take some negative camber out of the front. -.75 degrees is plenty with street tires and tall balljoints I don't know how stiff the kirban cargo springs are, but you could swap in a stock pair and see if this cures it. that would be a cheap enough fix. A softer rear spring should help.

    Still having some oversteer

As people have said, lower The pressure in the rear or run taller tires in the rear (like 255s) to reduce oversteer. On our 2+2 we increase rear tire pressure/lower front tire pressure to reduce understeer. 35 psi is a lot of tire pressure for handling with a wide tire on a skinny wheel. 28...

Had a little Mishap with the LS1 brakes today...

Basically the front tire came off in traffic and rolled another 1/2 mile while I slid to a stop on the Rotor. The wheel studs had sheared. I was driving 60 mph on the freeway. I was lightly braking for slowing traffic. The tire maybe wobbled for 10 seconds, I applied the brakes again to see if...

87 GN PowerMaster conversion to hydroboost questions.

I have LS1 fronts and a line lock, so the line lock and front brake type seems to be out of the equation. My pads are new and not fully bedded in, on drilled/sloted rotors maybe there is some similarity there. When I go hard on the pedal, it goes in, not much seems to happen, then it feels...

87 GN PowerMaster conversion to hydroboost questions.

The '84 Hydroboost set up on my '86 Ttype does this, too, so I don't think it is the Hydoboost. Do you have a line lock on the front wheels? Slamming down from 80mph there feels like a 1/2 second of no brakes, then tons of brakes.

Got my Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2 featured in Car Craft

Here is the Video of one leg of last year's SORC run. This years run would have been a much better video. We caught the Z07 Z06 that started 1 minute ahead of us and was dogging him on the north part of the course, but the video isn't as good and the sound is bad. Every year I try for a...

    1987 V8 GN's in Canada??

I remember that car 20 years ago in Greer, SC. I saw the airdams and looked under it to see no intercooler and a V8.

    Tall ball joints

I bought the $10 more "Proforged" Tall joints that come with nice boots. Std G-body ball joint boots should work, so E-bay may be a option for the summit ball joints. The boot should stay on even though there is a 1/2" gap from the taller stud, but if it didn't, I was going to use a 1/2" piece...

Got my Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2 featured in Car Craft

We did the photo shoot and article for High Performance Pontiac Magazine a few years ago, but they folded. It was a surprise when someone told me it was on Car Craft's web site. I've added another row with 5 more fender trophies since the article was written. Maybe in 2017 we'll give it a...

    Tall ball joints

With stock spindles there should be very little bumpsteer with just Tall Lower Ball joints. You may be able to measure some at the extents of travel, but probably won't notice any while driving, ever. My 2+2 hits rough pavement at 160+ mph and the tracks straight with zero steering movement or...

    Tall ball joints

The Adjustable centerlink can lower the inner Tie rods by about 1" and you can fine tune it with shims. The B-body spindles need about 1.5" to get rid of the bumpsteer. You get about 1/2" with the Tall LBJ's and the other inch from lowering the centerlink. When you get close, there is...

    Tall ball joints

The problem with those is they have a lot of adjustability down, but the problem is outer tie rod ends need to go up. Another solution is a Howe adjustable height centerlink for about $150 (Small Metric). Lowering the inside does the same thing as raising the outsides. I completely eliminated...

    Ta-49

For street tires, you are going to want drag radials. 275/60's or 255/60's. Real street tires are much tougher to 60ft. With Race gas, TA49, Thrasher 108 for Bluetops, Dutt Neck intercooler and THDP my car went 11.53@118 through the 2.5" ultraflows on BFGDR's. For traction, right side airbag.
