    TCC lockup wiring

Thanks, that diagram is better that what I was using. Looks like my problem is on the black and tan wire from the transmission to the ALDL port. Time to get dirty

    Anything I should replace

Water pump s hose, it's cheap and easy to get to now, yours looks a little swollen. Check the wp outlet while it's out. Mine was plugged and was causing a no heat situation I couldn't figure out.

    Shout out and thanks

I went to an air show at Bowman field in Louisville at the end of the summer last year. They had a small car show off to the side and there was a single GN. It was not modified and looked brand new, awesome car. I took about a dozen pictures of the engine bay from different angles to compare...

    TCC lockup wiring

My car has the condition where the TCC stays locked in 2-4 and I just changed the solenoid. That didn't fix it but I needed to do fluid and filter anyway. Checking pin a&f on the aldl yields 3 volts with the key on, it goes to 0 when I step on the brake pedal. Should be 12 and 0. From my...

Mind taking a took at this transmission?

I assume these are factory pistons? Today was oil pan gasket day. They say Buick 413 p. https://photos.app.goo.gl/H8GUr9e7rxQJLDdx9

Mind taking a took at this transmission?

I have no idea what I'm looking at lol. I did a fluid and filter job today and replaced the TCC lockup solenoid, hopefully that fixes my issue. The pictures are not great but I didn't have a lot of room under this thing and I had to finish before the rain hit. Just wondering if anything looks...

    Code 42

Took it for a drive tonight, maybe 30 or 40 minutes. Didn't get a CEL and the car ran great.

    Code 42

Rebuilt Delco pcm from rock auto is in, problem solved! No idea how that was possible, never hit bad pcm on the tree with any parts. But hey, now I have a few "known working" parts laying around 😆 I let it run for 10 minutes or so with no codes, we'll see how it runs when I have the time to...

    Code 42

ECM connector terminal B4 was a little miss shapen from probing and it would not hold onto an ECM pin on it's own. Depinned and corrected. ECM connector terminal D5 was in good shape. Reseated calpack and chip. Took some offline advice and changed the crank sensor. Still have code 42. New ECM...

    Code 42

Thanks for all the replies so far. I ran the tree again with my wife today and got the same results. But we called around and found a store with a machine that could test the module. AutoZone of all places. The original and replacement Delco unit passed 6 times. I'm going to disassemble the ECM...

    Code 42

I borrowed my wife's fluke meter and got the same results. White, and tan/black wire ohmed out to .3 with ECM and ccci disconnected. Ran the tree again with an incandescent 12v test light and got the same results. Module will not switch from sub 200 to over 8k. A previous module had the test...

    Code 42

OEM MAF, I haven't upgraded yet, no translator. Est wire hasn't been modified but I can see it's been probed before near the ECM connector. This car has sat for 16 years and I resurrected it within the last 2 months. It has accel plug wires, but they've been there since I bought the car. The...

    Code 42

That is the tree I used, never got the switch to 8000 ohms. Looked for an open circuit or grounded wire on the est and bypass wire, they tested fine.

    Code 42

Code 42 popped up while stopped at a red light. Drove home easy with no issues. Ran the trouble shooting tree and it pointed at ignition module. 2 duralast modules, same problem. Today I installed a highway stars AC Delco module, same problem. Cleaned the ECM connectors and checked ECM pins...

    Thermostat housing tip

Trying to fix my no heat situation after putting a new core in, I decided to do the thermostat. I would swear it was the original by looking at it but it was marked 160. I read a bunch of tips here and unfortunately none of them worked. It wiggled a little bit never budged. What finally worked...

    A few general questions

Thanks for everything so far. I was thinking the same about that drain plug, doesn't look safe hanging down that far. It does look like it's one of those fumoto things. I'm not married to the bov, probably easier to block it off. Scooby, the TT chip in it is one I ordered. The factory pcm was...

    A few general questions

I've been resurrecting my GN that's been sitting a long time. I've run into a few head scatchers. 1. What's missing from the horn area? I know it needs a turn signal canceling cam, the top is broke off and it needs the spring and such. But there is nothing to plug it into, the horn button is...

    Advice HID kit

HID lights in a standard reflector housing is a bad idea in my opinion, I've done it. Factory reflector housings aren't designed for the volume of light produced by a HID bulb and you'll get lots of light scattering, which will look like you have your high beams on all the time to other drivers...

Simple boost question experts chime in

Call me crazy, but logically I would think if you cut the whole exhaust off just before the cat you wouldn't need any modification to the programming. Removing the cat and inserting a straight pipe wouldn't drop back pressure enough to cause a lean condition, the turbo would however spool up...
