Amount of safe boost with factory fuel system?

How lean ya talking? My preference is not to "say" how much boost I can run, my preference is to run as much boost as I am comfortable with as well as how lean. This is just with my own personal experience. I would rather run a little higher boost, less timing and a good bit of fuel. I am sure...

Amount of safe boost with factory fuel system?

That is what a WBO2 is for. I have no problem sacrificing a couple horsepower and try to run it a little rich on top of a big fmic. Been doing it for years withno blown up motors yet. I just had my Evo on the dyno (Mustang) and on 93oct it did 398awhp and 370awtq running safely @ 11.7 a/f...

Amount of safe boost with factory fuel system?

I run 20 in 1st + 2nd and 18 in 3rd. Car has a TE44, big fmic, wally 255hp and 42 pd injectors and this is on 93 only. The secret to high boost on pump is lots of fuel and lots of intercooler. Hell, I can run 31-32 psi on straight 93 in my Evo and that has a huge fmic and 1650cc injectors!

    FS: Mint 6152e

I was told 2800 - 3200. Don't quote me, I am not any good at convertor talk. I have the orange stripe one in my car and I could foot brake it to 10 psi then the tires would just blow off. I just wanted something a little punchier and just finished up a TE44 install today, but to keep things in...

Install ? For those with BOVs

Interesting, I would think you would want the valve closed at idle. The only time it should open is when you let off the throttle, positive pressure in the UICP puts force on the bottom of the valve, while the greater vacuum helps pull the valve up. All good info, thanks.

Install ? For those with BOVs

I am curious about the shims, my understanding is the spring is linear, meaning that it is the same pressure no matter how much it is compressed. I also think a lot of problems I have been reading about would be fixed if there was a recirculated tube after the maf and before the turbo inlet

Install ? For those with BOVs

There is a company called Dejon Tool that used to make a boost actuated 3 port valve. It was a normally open valve and you would put a boost/vacuum source to the top port of a BOV (typically a modded 1g bov) and once you got to 14psi the spring would collapse and vent the pressure from the lower...

Install ? For those with BOVs

I would not want it open during spool up or any time other then when the throttle is closed, say after a nice pull or whatever. I know they don't come with them stock, but I can't help but wonder if having one would help. I also know there are a lot of auto's that DO have one installed from...

Install ? For those with BOVs

Thanks for the tips! On my Evo and my now gone DSM, the bov is recirculated from the factory (both 5spd cars) and both are maf cars. If I had them vented and shifted, bov would open, it would cause a rich condition. AFR gauge would peg 9:1 and stay for a second and car would run like crap for...

Install ? For those with BOVs

I wouldn't think which maf you are using makes the difference, I would think placement would be the deciding factor. If I were to run a vented BOV, after letting off the throttle all that metered air would go unaccounted for and cause a overly rich condition. Recirculating it back into the...

Install ? For those with BOVs

I have a question for you guys running BOV's, if you are using the stock maf, are you recirculating it back into the intake pipe or just venting it? With my UICP setup I can make it all recirculate pretty easy but if doesn't mess with the car to much, I can just vent it for the sake of being...

Hey guys, I am selling my less then 1000 miles PTE 6152e. 3" inlet and 2" outlet standard bearing turbo. It is to big for this car and only got this one because there was nothing else for me at the time and I needed a turbo. I originally wanted the 5133 or whatever the smaller turbo was back...

    Commander chip and AFPR

I have an older Commander chip for sale for stock injectors and an adjustable fuel regulator. The thread is a little galled up on the first thread but I just don't want to mess with it. It is used and anodized blue, has a couple scratches or scuff marks - 50 bucks plus shipping Commander...

    Replacing injectors and FPR

Are those little clips at the top of the injector that go over the fuel rail and the injector housing needed? I broke one today. I only ask as they are not on one of my other cars when I did a swap. If they are needed, who is the vendor to go to to get new ones, thanks!

    Mitsubishi Evo IX

They all have aluminum hoods. Only the MR comes stock with a vortex generator. The 8 nor the 9 have AYC. However the 10 does. 2005 all models have the ACD - active center diff. If you can find a 7 it will have the ACD and AYC - active yaw control. I do not know what the differences are for...
