    Concours Level Restoration

I have a bunch of original parts that I would likely be willing to sell, as I'm heading in a different direction. These include an original exhaust, several NOS hood liners, and the only set (that I know of anyways) of original date coded factory tires still new in their wrappers. Two...

Currectrac Billet Rear Lower Control Arm

I ordered these from SC&C back when they were still available. I finally got to opening the boxes and found Currie drop-shipped 3 UCAs and 1 LCA. :( I'd really like to run these with my Currectrac UCAs. If anyone has one or a pair in like new condition, I'd be very interested.

    FS/FT: 2001 Speedway White Z06 - 20K Miles, 800HP

Yes. Although I have to drop the lift and wake it from its winter hibernation still. Maybe this weekend if the weather holds.

    Chassis flex

It's truly amazing just how much flex these frames have. My frame is heavier now but the difference in rigidity is huge.

    Factory Frame Welds

Meh. It's a $25,000 car...can't even buy a nice new Malibu for that. Why start with junk? It's not like I couldn't replace it in ten minutes on the internet anyways.

Where to buy a frame notch kit?

Why did you notch your frame so far forward? Your wheel well opening on your rear quarter panel ends like 6" further back. I wouldn't advocate notching right up to body mount #4. You're skinning the frame right where the rear LCA mounts to the frame. Not a good idea IMO.

Where to buy a frame notch kit?

Won't fit with the floor pan in the rear seat area. :(

Where to buy a frame notch kit?

I'm trying to do the mental gymnastics to figure out if this setup would be beneficial at the rear, tying in the rear lower LCA mounts and extending forward on the frame from there. Might be able to get a twofer. :)

    New Rear frame brace Brackets!

You would think. But oddly enough, this brace does help.

Where to buy a frame notch kit?

I don't recall anyone else off hand. But as someone who tried to install a boxing kit today unsuccessfully, I would suggest you do it yourself. The frames on these cars seem to have very...umm...loose...tolerances.

    Best GN Dash!

Looks good, especially if one factors in the ease of install. I'd love to see a video of one of these in operation...day and night...before making a final decision though. I really like that it's GPS ready for the speedo. That's definitely the route I plan on going.

    Factory Frame Welds

Those pictures are impressive Sam. I know the new frames are much better than the old ones. I'll get mine welded up and braced and it will be all good. Just food for thought for everyone else as mentioned.

Can I bring mine back and have it done properly Sam? :)

    Factory Frame Welds

These comments are what I expected, and exactly why I decided to post up some pics. I think we are all in denial about just how bad these frames are. This car currently has around 30,000 miles, and I bought it off a little old lady who was getting too old to drive, around 15 years ago. I...

    Factory Frame Welds

I'm taking a lot of photos as I work on my new build. I've seen some talk on this forum about how bad the factory welds are, but I haven't really come across any pictures. So I thought I would toss some up with an easily searchable title for future reference. :) Please be advised the...

    Grill springs

Also, you'll have to wiggle the spring around a bit to get it to go into the holes on the bumper support. They're a tight fit, so you may not think they're the right spot at first glance. ;)

    Question about body bushings

It's really not that hard to do. I did all mine years ago one night after work in the garage. I left my bumpers on, but I have an unusually forgiving set of bumper fillers on my car. Also, my bolts weren't rusted, let alone seized. YMMV.

    New Rear frame brace Brackets!

Hey Scot. Just confirming these are made from aluminum, as you mentioned they are TIG welded. I need a set in aluminum, and would like to support a forum vendor. But I need to see if it's a lot cheaper just to have them custom made up here. Shipping is killer. :(

What did you do to your GN today?

I went and bought EZ Off and Castrol Super Clean to clean the frame once I strip it down. Pulled it out of the shop to hit it with the Hotsie quick to get the fluids off from pulling the engine and trans, and found the Hotsie took everything to bare metal all on its own...God I love that thing...
