What would cause this ?Engine guys step inside .

I believe The pin is pressed into the rod---the pin rotates in the piston bore. For whatever reason it has moved in the piston. I would compare the offending pin to a stock pin. Your answer may be there. Different weight pins hold or tranfer heat @ a different rate.

    type 2 coils & tps.tec

Tps -tec I was refering to the TPS enhancer. BTW, I have been running the type II for over 10 years. A friend of mine was one of the engineers who helped design the type II. His exact words "they are not hotter than the Magnavox but will take the heat better". Having said that GM once had...

    Oil pressure too high??

Exactly!! A couple trips around the block will not get the oil HOT. So many people think that once the water gets up to operating temp. the oil is there also. Remember the oil has no thermostat in the system. IMO if you do what Bison says you will have around 20 HOT idle and maybe 50 -60 @...

    RJC New engine grace

Don't have any pics but I have been using something very simular for years. I use 1/4 in. X 1 in. flat steel---make a T shaped piece that bolts to the back of drivers side head. Bolt it @ the 3 holes in head (very important to use BLUE Loctite and lock washers) Heat and bend so the end...

Will a rebuilt Vigilante 5 disc rattle?

From my understanding If it rattled before the rebuild (older units), it will rattle again unless you pay extra to have it updated. I have had a few different multi disc in my car over the years and the best performing one was my firts one which rattled. My current one does not rattle but is...

    RJC Gridle studs

Imo There have been more than 1 case of the pan rail studs breaking off. IMHO that is because proper machine work, correct clearance and other causes were not done right or attention to detail was soft. Having said that and not knowing your case, I would NOT loctite them in the block in case...

    4.1 Cam Bearing Installed Correct?

bearings How far along are you in the assembly process? I sent a PM. Did you not get it? You could drill the other feed hole which I believe it around 2 o-clock. .090-.100 will be more than big enough. Remove the drivers side rear 1/4 in. pipe plug--apply compressed air while drilling with...

    Bosch 044 Fuel Pump intank

Exactly !!!!! If you are going to the trouble of doing it--do it right--remove the intank pump and fab a 1/2 in suction line for the Bosch and mount it extrnally. It will pick from the tank mounted above the rear housing. It's going to be louder that factory.

GSCA's thought on the TA block

Nick !!! I thought he could walk on water. Does anyone (racers) still pay dues to get his sale catalog. I gave up years ago. I met him on my second year to BG. Had him pegged right off. He does have the best event going as of now with the time of year and location.

    Bosch 044 Fuel Pump intank

??? Why not mount it externally? I have 2 Bosch 044 mounted above the rear end housing. 1 runs all the time and the other comes on @ what ever setting I choose. Had to do some fabbing on the hanger so each has it's own pickup. Seems as though 1 mounted there would be simple. If using a large...

Timing cover install AFTER girdle installed..how?

install Remove the 2 1/4 in. dowels in the front of block that locate the front cover. I use the Right Stuff for sealing the cover to girdle--push cover on and down onto the girdle--then reinstall the 2 dowels.
