    Current Draw

Lol! Ok. Removing the relay it is then. I'll see if the battery will last.

    Current Draw

So I finally have a chance to chase down this current draw that drains the battery, and I was just wondering what reading I am shooting for. I have a digital multimeter set to 200ma and when I test, I'm getting an 11.5 reading (11.5 ma?). I unplug the large fan relay and it drops to 7.5, so...

    Weird electrical "issue"

Thanks Nick, I'll try running a ground line right to the battery this week. Right after I posted it started raining here so I took the car back to where I store it. I still need to hook up the sender too. As far as I know my grounds are good, never had an elecrical problem before. I guess this...

    Weird electrical "issue"

I'm installing my scanmaster and an electric fuel pressure gauge (Prosport Evo) on my '87 GN and I'm seeing a weird problem with the gauge where it is flickering - not on and off, but not staying bright. I think I've pretty much ruled the gauge out, putting 12v directly to it works fine, and...

    Fuel Line contacting Intercooler Bracket

Cool, thanks - those were actually the two things I was thinking of doing, and I'm glad to see others have done it. I think I'll try making a cover for the line first and keep an eye on it for awhile. I get nervous about kinking the line, which is why I didn't try to bend it.

    Fuel Line contacting Intercooler Bracket

So when I was replacing my cam and crank sensor I took the intercooler out for clearance and to clean it all up. When putting it back together one of the fuel lines is rubbing against the intercooler bracket, and is about an inch away from the other fuel line. I obviously don't want it...

    Front Bumper Reinforcement

When I was pulling my front grill off to clean it I knew I would have to replace the springs as my car didn't have them and my grill was only held on by the three bolts on top. The grill is complete and not broken, so I ordered grill springs from Kirbans and figured I'd put them on when I...

    Reupholster sun visor

When they moved from Milwaukee to Crandon, WI in 2010 they changed their name to Elite Automotive & Accessories. I've never used them so I can't provide a recommendation either way, but I was assured that it is the same owners and same quality. I'll be sending my visors to them over the winter.

Factory radio is out where to find some parts

I would say to mount the radio you could use something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Metra-99-4644-Multi-Kit-Shelf-Black/dp/B0007WTFAM/ref=au_pf_pfg_s?ie=UTF8&Make=Buick%7C45&Model=Regal%7C392&Year=1987%7C1987&carId=001&n=1077068&newCar=1&s=car&vehicleType=automotive I have one in my car...

O2 Volts Not Stable At Idle - Normal?

Cool, thanks. I did a search and couldn't find a definitive answer, and I don't know anyone here in Central NJ with a GN/Turbo T that I can ask. I've owned this beast for 22 years through all of the ups and downs in my life and I finally have a little extra money to get it back to being a good...

O2 Volts Not Stable At Idle - Normal?

OK, so I finally was able to cobble together a laptop from spare parts to connect to DirectScan, I'm trying to get this car tuned after a few years of being stored. Looking at DScan readings the O2 Volts are swinging wildly at idle - idle is from 680-750 RPM (Red's 93 chip with a 700RPM idle)...

Pulsing in brake pedal and clicking noise

Thanks guys, I think I'll replace the pressure switch. The brakes work fine except for that slight pulse so I may take it to the Kirban open house on Saturday and get one there.

Pulsing in brake pedal and clicking noise

Hey all, I've done some searching but I can't find my specific problem. '87 GN, PM brakes, new accumulator 1 year ago (hard pedal and brake light, neither have returned). I was checking things out (car was in storage out-of-state since last Stepember and I trailered it home last month) and I...

I'll have to remember that for next time. :)

Cam Sensor Replacement - A Beginners Journey

I tried that but the belt just slipped on the lower pulley (<1000 miles on the bolt so it's not old) - hence the reason I needed to remove the intercooler and fan.

Cam Sensor Replacement - A Beginners Journey

So, I just spent yesterday evening replacing my cam sensor in my '87 Grand National for the first time, and I figured since there are a lot of posts about the adjustment but none on the actual replacement I'd lay out some tips and tricks for the first timer that worked for me. Some of you more...

    WTB: Front turn signal bezels

Hello! I'm looking for the bezels for the front turn signals on my '87 Grand National, the ones in the front bumper below the headlights. They went missing after a repaint about 10 years ago (by the time I noticed they were missing we couldn't find them at the shop) and it's time to replace...

Hello! I'm trying to send you a PM about possibly hauling my GN but the system says you have exceeded your PM storage and won't let me send you a message. Austintown, OH to Central NJ. If you clear up some space I can send you more detail. Thanks! Bob

I'm on the road and pretty screwed

I'm back and forth between having it towed and recruiting a friend to drive out with me and help try to fix it. This way I have an extra set of hands and a ride back if unsuccessful. :) The good thing is I get the month of October free on the storage unit, so I don't have to hurry to make a...
