    C6 Vette 18X9.5 wheels on a Regal

has anyone done it? i just picked up a set of the aftermarket repro C6 Z06 18x9.5" wheels to put on my 86 Camaro, and i thought maybe someone out there has put some of these on a Regal or GN.. they have a LOT of backspacing- 7.5"- so some thick adapters would be needed, but i bet they would look...

why does my transmission do this?

i haven't actually driven my car regularly for about 5 years. when i parked it, the trans worked fine- went into gear right away, shifted thru all gears, torque converter locked up when it was supposed to. it just leaked out of the front seal from time to time when it was parked, but never while...

    the FBI GNX..

saw a 1700 mile GNX being appraised on some silly show on tv last night... the owner said that one of the things that made the GNX special was that 547 were built, with the first 50 going to the FBI.. it's on tv, so it has to be true, right?

    forum color scheme

when did the background color get switched to the dead looking gray? is it supposed to represent a GN that's been sitting in the sun since 1987? what was so bad about the nice vivid black background that made everything pop? also, the yellow buttons with white writing: what's up with that?

    GNX on tv..

they talked about the GN in general and the GNX specifically on Detroit Muscle this weekend.. didn't really learn much, other than that the GNX has cool gauges, special turbo, and a weird rear suspension.. figured i'd post this just because..

MN has "GNX" series license plates on cars...

saw a car sitting at Taco Bell in Alexandria, MN last night that had "743 GNX" on it's license plates... this means that in one region of the state, there are going to be 999 cars and trucks running around with "GNX" on their license plates for the next 7 years (that's how often they make you...

wanna see why race cars have roll cages and drivers wear helmets?

then watch this video: he got out ok, but dude could have also used a containment seat (he was whipping all over the place, and his arms and head damn near went out the window) and a full face helmet (stuff was bouncing off his face).. arm restrains are maybe not such a bad idea, either..

took my car out for the first time in almost 2 years..

and it was interesting... the car started right up and settled into a smooth idle, apparently a half a tank of E50 gas stays good for a long, long time... then i topped off the atf (it leaks out around the front seal when parked- the floor of the storage unit is probably a superfund site now...)...

help me place a value on my car:

mulling the possibility of selling my car, and would like to get a ballpark estimate on what to ask for it. 84 T Type 72,000 miles non original engine- parts store reman that was installed in the early 90's some time.. no "proper" turbo parts in it, but it's a strong runner that has survived...

what oil to use in the supercharger on an 01 GTP?

is there a different oil that can be used in the supercharger than the GM/AC Delco stuff from a dealer? i've been trying to find a cheaper equivalent alternative online for a couple of days, but haven't come up with anything certain... some say that you have to use the GM stuff, some say to just...

so i went to NAPA today and picked up some brakes for my 86 Camaro..

some brake stuff for my 86 Camaro. if it works out, i'll get the same stuff for the T Type eventually.. seems like a lot of brake for the $230 (including sales tax) that i paid for both sides.. i the fat guy (me) approves.. those LS1 F bodies sure had some beefy brake stuff on them...

    should i do it?

i found me a pretty decent deal on an 84 Mustang that's set up with a mild 351W and a 5 speed that has an asking price of $2995.. i'm thinking about seeing if i can trade my 84 T Type for it.. on the one hand, i do like the Regal and it is a good cruiser.. plus it's surprisingly quick for such...

how is the ignition timing setup on these cars?

i'm not asking how to set it- i understand how that works.. i'm more curious about the timing curves- how much timing it has at idle and while cruising in overdrive at 60mph- things like that.. i'm asking because i got to wondering why my T Type only gets 17mpg when i drive it nice. i keep...
