Who makes a turbo shield for a PTE 5862 turbo?

My stock one doesn't seem to be able to fit even after trimming the end that goes over the 3" downpipe. Wondering if there are good aftermarket options.

See pics. Stock needs to move closer to the compressor side to get the mounting bolts to line up (need 3/16" or so) but hits the bolt heads on the turbo.

I carved up a spare cover to fit a 5858. Cover the ends with masking tape, trace your curve, then cut & file. The back corner required some clearancing for that turbine housing bolt. The cover barely fits.

I kind of like the look of the cover though. But given the cutting that will allow at least radiant heat to go the other way, I was thinking of getting a blanket too underneath. Any recommendations as to which brand is the best quality for a 5862?

Will this fit both the PTE 5862 and the RJC 3" downpipe? Need to be sure before I order.
The words “Turbo Heat Shields” in the original post is a link to TR Customs website where you can read all about the shields, but you probably knew that.

Mine is less than ideal. I thought about slotting the mounting holes, but I didn't have the equipment to keep the slots even. I may pursue a blanket someday if it will fit underneath the cover.

One of the points of getting a blanket(in my opinion) is to eliminate the cover all together.

Larger that stock downpipes must be cut and by the looks of your downpipe, it needs to be cut big time. I run a normal 3" downpipe with external gate and cut my shield as you see in the pic. I too prefer the look of the stock heatshield. One other benefit is, it let's you keep using the heatshield mounting bracket, or what I like to call the question mark bracket. This greatly helps support the weight of the turbo. IMO, this is critical for giving your passengers side header the best chance of survival from cracking as possible.
Hope this helps.

To each their own. It's you car, your preference.

Just for the record, I have a PTP blanket & was able to keep/use my "J" bracket and the blanket fits over just fine. I do only have a TA60 turbo but it can be done.

Don't mean to sound dumb, but what's the thing with the yellow connector by the blower box?

I have used DEI cool tape to protect my turbo shield (stuck to the backside) and has worked well since the ‘90’s. I also had the turbo exhaust housing wrapped with header wrap.

I think I'll be good with the stock one just by elongating the holes and some add'l trimming for the d/p. Fits fine now; I've started polishing it up with some scotchbrite on my M12 90 deg angle grinder and its coming out nice (not shown yet, in progress). I'll probably get some nice larger washers to cover up the oval slots I now have when I bolt it up.

Maybe make a strap with two holes out of aluminum or stainless to church it up a little, instead of two washers?
