TPS at wide open throttle

For years, whenever I re-adjust the tps to a .42 volt idle, it always automatically showed 4.6 at WOT. I just took it out for a few logged runs at WOT and I could feel it wasn't doing it's normal thing so I checked the tps. Idle was right on at 4.2 but WOT was only 4.25. Can the tps be adjusted at the WOT end also? I always thought not. Alternatively I suspect some kind of throttle linkage problem. Checked for clearance under the pedal and it was fine. Throttle under the hood did not seem restricted either.

Probably unrelated but when I got home I noticed that the "recall" button on the scanmaster (which has always worked fine) makes the panel go blank. Anyone experience that?

Thanks

About the scan master part, it only records a run and recalls if you get past the 3.00 Tps volts. If you didn’t get to that voltage then the scan master won’t record and will just show a blank panel

Thank you for your response. I should have met the 3 volts because I am showing 4.2 at idle. Did you mean another voltage?

You mean .42 at idle?

I believe there is a time limit as well as tps threshold.
Yes, .42 at idle. So I just double checked and here is what happens now. 1. Recall seems to be working again (maybe I was holding the recall button in?) . 2. Idle tps shows .40 when I key on but .42 after a WOT check. On that WOT check I JAMMED the throttle and got it up to .435. So are those numbers acceptable to tell the ecu what I am doing? If so I think I am okay now.

Wot throttle number is not critical.
I understand that the number is not critical. Eric has told me that the WOT parameters of the Turbotweak chip kickin at about 10-11 psi of boost. But since my WOT # was always .46 and now it is .435 could that mean that my throttle blade is not advancing as far as it used to. That would jive with my experience earlier in the day. I opened the turbo controller four turns which usually gave me 20-22 psi but it maxed out at 18, Amazing how much time I seem to have these days to check all the little things.

Hi Tom, floor mat out of position or new, thicker floor mat (embroidered) now in the car? perhaps that is why WOT TPS voltage is lower now because of the thick mat. that's what comes to mind when the low end setting stays the same.

Thanks. The mat is out of the way and it's the same old (original) carpet. I'm gonna see if the linkage needs to be adjusted. I suspect the throttle is not opening quite all the way.

Unhook the tv cable and recheck. I’ve seen it hold WOT numbers low. It’s supposed to ratchet out and self adjust but won’t under certain circumstances.

Thank you all. I fiddled with it some more and got it to read correctly (.42 at idle and 4.65 at WOT) I learned two things from researching this issue. 1) The scanmaster starts recording when at half throttle or more for more than a second or two, and 2) The setting for parameter 2 (1st gear only) is ADDITIVE to the setting in parameter 1 (all gears) In other words if all gears setting is +3.1% and 1st gear only setting is +4.9% then 1st gear is actually +8.0%. Everyone else probably already knew that.
