witch one to get ? They have 2 that fit the buick 8.5 a regular 1 and a low profile 1 what do most people run ?

i have the standard. i like the way the low profile one looks. they both do the same thing. one just saved alittle space for cars that might have clearance issues

thanks for the reply will be ordering 1 in the futer just want the right 1 first time

what swaybar are you running in the rear? reason i ask is because i just did the DSE rearsway bar which is similar to h+r and spohn where there attach to the rearend with clamps, the hoop of the swaybar that is made to clear a stock rearend cover wouldnt clear my t/a girdle....i had to move the swaybar clamps to a different angle for it to clear....now i know the old h+r bar bends more under the rear but not sure if the newer style which is supposed to be more lo-pro comes closer to cover or not......this was with a standard t/a girdle,id say with the lower profile one it wouldnt be an issue.....just what i ran into....joel

found some pictures not to clear but take it that it did make contact :

just a side note my car is lowered dont know if that makes a difference cause i think it would still contact on bumps or hard lauch...

See I have the old/ first style hr bar so mine goes down further. No issues with mine

How is the DSE bar attach to the frame and/or control arms? I would put the rear end in the running location (raise it up to normal ride height). That might impact the clearance with the rear end cover. Just guessing.

a low profile is for a bar like the wolf style that crosses in front of the cover. i got the stock profile

it attaches to the frame similar to h+r bar but has different style swivel links....my car is lowered so i think that might have something to do with it...the bar doesnt attach to the control arms by the way....

not my car but this is from DSE

no, the wolfe bar is mounted up high between the frame rails, not even near the cover.....look at pics of my car right by the top of the spring pocket....thats one place it could be mounted....i had one but took it off cause this car is more setup for street/strip, not just drag......joel

my bad got confused. i know that there was one that ran across the front of cover

Right now I am hoping the hr bar is going to work:confused:

i believe the h+r bar still bends under the diff so u should be good, but it'd be best to check with them......i had every intention of running a h+r bar but the new ones werent ready when i was ready to order....here it is 4 months later and the car is just about road worthy..lol...but i am happy with the DSE front and rear bars.....

It doesnt matter which one you get. I bought the standard and them milled off the back and lettered it. Then I machined it where the washers sit and I used studs not the bolts they give you. This allows for more even tightening. I have done this to several others. A nice personal touch. I also had it clear powdercoated. They will discolor and get ugly looking.

I bought the moser rear end cover from summit and it came in a TA performance box. Exact same just says moser on the back.
