What Are Some Fun Cars For $15K, WRX?

I agree but that's just how it is with just about any older car. My father in law just did a $100k frame off on a 69 roadrunner. He swapped the drivetrain out of a wrecked srt-8 charger and upgraded literally everything, body mounts, brakes, suspension, rack and pinion steering, double coating...

What Are Some Fun Cars For $15K, WRX?

Man my 87 GN was a nightmare. I admit that some of it was my fault due to ignorance but all I will say is I will never own another one. My dad drove G-bodies when I was growing up and cant help but to like them so I think it would be cool to find a clean monte SS and do an ls swap. I was...

What Are Some Fun Cars For $15K, WRX?

No I'm not into FWD cars for the most part, I think for now I will hold off and just keep my eye open for a LS swap candidate, probably a clean G-body. Newer cars just don't really do it for me even though I know it is probably the smartest road to take. I was thinking a WRX would be the way to...

What Are Some Fun Cars For $15K, WRX?

I just really don't like the looks of them, never have. Appreciate all the info everyone thanks for the replies. I decided to hold off on the WRX, I agree with BuickMike on pretty much all points and definitely would not fit in with the usual hipster Subaru crowd. I still like the cars and...

What Are Some Fun Cars For $15K, WRX?

I've got a need for speed and about $15,000 cash...trying to come up with ideas on what to buy. Right now I am thinking about a WRX STI but not dead set on it...Just always liked them and they seem like a fun street car. I have also been looking at some turbo LS swapped cars locally but its...

looking for a grand national mechanic in dallas

bump to an old thread. I sold my 87 GN to a guy in dallas with a known bad motor (lots of metal in the oil). can you guys recommend a shop he can take it to? The motor was just rebuilt prior to the issue so it would be nice for him to be able to take it to a guy/shop that wont push a full on...

If You Could Do it All Over Again...What Would You Do?

Thanks man. It was coming down to fast xfi vs SD2+PL. The SD2 route would be around half the price but i get what you are saying...when these cars came out a floppy disc was cutting edge technology lol. Right now I am strongly considering an 84-85 regal and going turbo LS. I wouldn't do it to an...

Whats the Value of This '85 FWD 3.8

Block casting is 25520043 which according to buickgod would make it out of a 1985 FWD car and should have 8445 heads. Will it have a rolled fillet crank? Just curious as it is for sale locally and considering making an offer.

    Going to rewire Brutus!!

Your attention to detail is excellent. lots of cars go fast, lots of cars look clean. But its very rare that a car goes that fast and looks that clean. Thanks so much for taking the time to post up your progress.

    Unsure what to do

The most beautiful thing about these cars is their ability to be a full weight, full luxury, 11-12 sec daily driver. So IMO that is really where these cars shine. Beyond that, I would find a diferent car and turbo LS it.
