The shorter the sidewall, the more noticeable bumps will be unless you have adjustable shocks that you can dial some of that out. I have 16x8's now with with 50 series tires aren't bad. Have a set of 17's waiting with 40 series tires so I'm expecting a slight increase in stiffness.

There's a hand full of street tire options in 225/50 and 245/50 and a couple drag radials in 255/50

When I had the drivetrain out I painted the floors, frame, rear end and tank matte black so it all matched. Gloss blank tank sticks out like a soar thumb if the surrounding areas are unfinished.

Had mine on scales a few years ago. 3440lbs with half tank of fuel and GTA wheels. 87 T, t-tops, no power options, aluminum bumper supports & rear drums, aluminum rad, aluminum heads, & light weight front brakes. Probably 3430 now with the new suspension parts.

Haven't had that issue with that bar and 16x8 GTA's. Only issue I've had is the bar just barely contacts my left intercooler pipe.

Went through Scott @ GNS for a full Ridetech setup and dramatically improved the ride quality and handling. Ridetech 1,000,000 mile shock warranty is a plus as well.

There are a few choices in 245/50, but BFG G-force Sport Comps are the only street tire in 255/50. Otherwise Toyo makes road race/drag radials, Mickey Thompson has the ET Street SS drag radial, and Hoosier has a drag radial and road race tire.
