Let me know if you end up going to a standard SLIC. I modified a scoop for the stocker that fits perfectly in the early A-Bodies, sits higher up and is wider. I'm not using it.

quite a bit actually, in the areas of the rear of the crossmember, outboard of the pan. I cut/shaped/welded these areas and the engine went in/out several times before I got the desired clearance.

Minor updates to the air intake tract. I upsized the turbo intake to 3 1/2" with a bigger MAF and tubing, plus an oversized K&N.

First time I’ve seen this thread. Great truck and execution!

At this point, I've got the car mostly done to the level that I want it. Unless I decide to do the body restoration at some point... Which is kinda a long shot. That's a year and a half commitment that I'm not willing to make right now. However, I will still do some small tweaks here and there...

Yeah, sucks that the site lost the pics. Fortunately I did not. They are on a Photobucket site. The link is below - https://next.photobucket.com/u/Tim_D_63wagon/a/dcd51ad4-0763-4a82-9696-d47713514920

Still waiting to see if several pages of vehicle updates will be recovered. In the interim, I made a couple of upgrades over the winter. First, I added a floor shifter. Although I like the stock column shifter, it wouldn't engage any gear past "drive". I have a couple extra gears than that...

What happened?!? I lost several pages of updates from 2020 and 2021. The new rear axle, front mount intercooler, methanol injection, coil over upgrades... ALL GONE!

I published a video summarizing the content added for the methanol injection. If interested, see link below. Alky Overiew

All the engine compartment assembly is now finished. The alky pump has found its permanent home, along with the access panel and all fluid lines, electrical lines, brackets, etc. I'm particularly happy with the fabbed mounting of the alky tank (GM washer bottle). This looks pretty darned factory.

Yesterday, the valve springs got changed out. I used the compressed-air method, along with the valve spring installation tool available from Cotton's. The springs used are the Comp Cams 980s. The spring job went pretty quick once I learned to "tap" the top of each retainer with a socket (in my...

So the previous post showed the access hole in the inner fender skirt that I had to cut to mount the alky pump low. Tonight a fabbed up a cover plate that drops in the hole, and will be secured by a few perimeter bolts and j-nuts. Came out OK. And it will be hidden by the front bumper once...

Over the course of the last couple of days, I was able to set the alky pump at height, and complete the plumbing mockup. In order to set the pump as low as possible (IE - as low relative to the tank outlet as possible), I had to cut an access hole on the inner fender/core support. I'll fab up a...

And I've said it before... That comment is highly appreciated. I've put way more emphasis on the swap than I have on the car itself. This is why I've left the car in original, unrestored condition.
