Boost Control Issue - need direction on next step

Port the wastegate hole as recommended. Then, use the HD actuator with a spring or springs between washers on the threaded wastegate rod secured with double nuts. The springs counteract the heavy spring in the HD wastegate allowing for lower cracking (opening) pressures. Apply regulated air...

    Converter to Flexplate Gap

I, too, wonder what governs the requirement for installed gap other than crankshaft endplay and thermal expansion. A stock flexplate bends away from the crankshaft flange by 3/16, a CAT plate moves outward 5/16, but a JW flexplate is perfectly flat and 3/16 thick. The JW ends up at the same...

Thanks, perhaps I can stop pulling at what little grey hair I have left.

    Converter to Flexplate Gap

Is a 1/16 to 1/8 gap between converter and flexplate too tight? The flexplate is a JW, the converter is a 9.5 PTC, the converter mounting pads are 1 inch from the trans face. Thanks.

    New Combo / Old Chip

Is it ok to just start my new engine with the stock computer? It has an extender chip for a 231 with p&p irons, 210/210 6265 and 80# inj. The new engine is stroked, 9.5:1, p&p GN1's, 224/224, 6766 and 80# inj (for now). I'm leary about currently investing in an ECU GN for an engine not even...

Front Coil Spring Install - Help

After the nightmare that Saturday was with the lethal spring compressor, I read your recommendations, and Sunday was a breeze. Thanks, much. I just unbolted the LCA's from the frame, slid the springs in and used the spring compressor at the top. The job was actually quite easy.

Front Coil Spring Install - Help

Today was lost failing to install stock front coil springs. The rental tool danced off the coils and proved dangerously useless. So, are there any secrets to getting this done short of spending $200 on an OTC 7045 coil spring installer?

    Oil Pan

Thanks, everyone. The resources that recommended 14 ft lbs seemed wrong. Then, when I tightened the RJC oil pan against the girdle and the cork gasket and Right Stuff oozed out, I knew it was wrong. Ironically, the Right Stuff cleaned up without drama from the pan and girdle. Oh well, it's on...

    Modifying Detent Plate

The plate was purchased from Gbody Parts, shipped promptly and was a simple install. Best of all it works great. Thanks to all - boost on.

    Modifying Detent Plate

Does anyone have instructions on how to modify the stock shifter detent plate. This mod is done to prevent inadvertently manually shifting the tranny from 2 to OD or N instead of drive. Thanks

FS: a few misc parts for sale

I'm second for the turbo saver lines if you, also, have the -4 fitting/hose for the oil supply to the turbo. How much for the stock fuel lines?
