Drivers side exhaust manifold getting red hot

So would the manifold run hot like that when I'm actually driving the car or the afr would be rich enough to keep it from glowing? Just wondering if I need to carry a fire extinguisher in the passenger's seat at all times. Lol

But it does that after you've ran it hard right? Not just giving it some idle revs for a minute or two and then have it turn red.

Drivers side exhaust manifold getting red hot

It seems like it would be a fueling issue causing this but the INT and BL numbers don't indicate things to be so far off to cause extreme exhaust heat like it is. I'm so confused. Could a sensor be wacky somewhere and causing the car to take fuel away, causing a lean condition......and also...

Drivers side exhaust manifold getting red hot

So I fired my car up for the first time since fall last year. Sounded a bit rough at first but as soon as oil pressure came up it sounded ok. Sounded really good actually. Played with some settings like TPS and IAC and adjusted fuel pressure. Only change I made to it since last year was...

I need some help diagnosing a fuel pressure issue.

I just rebuilt my 3.8 in 87 GN. Got things back together and fired it up. Things are looking really good. Even scanmaster numbers are looking good after some driving and testing and adjustments. I did notice that it was burning an incredible amount of fuel even though scanmaster numbers...

    How to adjust timing

I have a turbo tweak chip installed that Eric made for me a couple years ago along with a set of 42 lb injectors to match. I also have the scanmaster installed and operating. I actually installed the scan master at the same time as the chip. I have a pretty good set up going...….High...

    How to adjust timing

I recently rebuilt the engine in my 87 GN. I have already fired it up and done the initial 20 minute break in procedure. Everything seems to work perfect.....no problems in terms of running nicely. But I want some advice on how to adjust and set the timing if I want to after I am able to get...

Question about tinman cold air intake

I want to order the tin man cold air intake system for my 87 GN. I'm thinking of ordering it from Kirban but I'm wondering if it comes with the aluminum mass air flow pipe as well. (The pipe that runs from the turbo to the MAF.) Or do I have to order them seperatly. The web site is a bit...

    Speedo question!!

I'm having a speedo problem as well. The needle bounces around at lower speeds but smooths up at highway speed. and just recently I encountered another problem. I was cruising on the highway going about 110kms per hour with the cruise control engaged and it felt like the cruise control was...

    Powermaster to vacumm brake conversion

Do you know if there is an adjustable valve available that fits without having to modify the way it mounts on the car or anything?

    Powermaster to vacumm brake conversion

Also when I was bleeding the brakes out I made sure to hold the pin in on the proportioning valve with a clamp because i was told that air can get trapped in there as well. When I did that though i noticed that the pin didn't stick out very far anyways and also seemed kind of sticky. Didn't...
