I have a relatively stock hot air engine with stock pistons and Kenne Bell cam (1XTB) and I was told years ago that I should have btw 14-16 in hg vac at idle. I have for the longest time only get 11 in hg. I did a smoke test on the engine and the only place I could find a leak was at the TB...
So why does the reman ecm have a metal plate just under the one screw hole? I know both screws for the cover should be the same length but on the one side there is a bar or metal tab that is keeping the screw from going in. On the junk computer I got from the wrecking yard both are the same...
I have a replacement ECM but they did not include the eprom cover and the 2 screws with it. Does anyone have the small cover and screws to close it up? Thanks
So I ordered a reman ECM from rockauto and received it without the metal cover and two screws. I'm not sure why they wouldn't keep it with the casing but I have to find one and the screws. The core I got from someone doesn't have it either and I don't have the original ECM.

Just wanted to see what you guys do for the preparation for winter storage on the alcohol system. In the past I have run water thru the pump and nozzle and let it go at that but didn't know if that was ok or should I do more? Thanks
I am having trouble getting the housing to seal against the manifold. I have tried 2x with new gaskets and it still leaks. The housing has been cleaned but has allot of rust pits. What are you guys doing to remedy this? Can I buy or new one or try to find a good used one? Thanks
Can someone advise what the proper plug size I need for the four block freeze plugs are? I want to use brass since I just noticed one of the steel plugs has a hole in it. I see there are different cup heights used looking at the advance auto website. I am going to replace all four on the block...
Can someone show me a picture of which way the closer shocks mount? I don't know if I have them the correct way. The hood seems to be binding right before it closes and I don't know if its the shocks or something else in the alignment. Or is it usually very tight to close. Thanks
