    Camshaft Key Search RP309G

Lost the camshaft woodruff (?) key for my ATR RP309G camshaft when the engine was torn down. Does anyone know the part number and where I could get one? I think the term is woodruff, but not sure.

    Old Timing Gearset Design Needed

Thanks. I failed to realize that this old gear design/system might have been what they used to use in the old odd fire engines. I sure appreciate the lead. I was beginning to think I might have made a mistake trying to save the old cam. I like the grind a lot. Has good vacuum at idle and...

    Old Timing Gearset Design Needed

My machinist sent out my ATR RP309G camshaft for re-grinding/cleanup. Two lobes were pitted a bit due to some foreign material circulating around. While my Turbo Trans Am engine is apart, I would like to purchase new timing gears. Because this is an old stick, commonly available gearsets with...

Would that be a 3 wire? If so, what part number would you recommend?

Ok guys. Thanks for all the help. Time to put this thread to bed. Yes, it turned out to be a bad MAF - as per the high reading (16) which according to Eric is about twice as high as it should have been at idle. The high MAF value was making the ECM throw twice as much fuel into the engine -...

Yep. All checked out except the chip. Currently have Eric at TurboTweak checking a PowerLogger log file that I made. He said he'd check my chip if necessary. Might be zero'ing in on this.

Thanks for suggesting Don Cruz. However if Eric at TurboTweak and I can't figure this out, I will have it flat bedded to Cal Hartline in Melbourne (about 100 miles north of me). That's the last resort. I hate to give up though!

Hi Chuck - This is a recently assembled engine so no exhaust leaks. Checked grounds several times (especially the 4 at the rear of the intake manifold on the passenger side. This same missing/rich issue started when I was using the previous engine. I already tried changing the cam sensor back...

Just made a Power Logger file. Though my wideband gauge only reads as low as 10 to 1, the PL log says it's more like 7 to 1. I just sent it to Eric at TurboTweak for analysis and comment, but I will attach it for you to see Scott. Bob

On second thought, the intercooler plumbing was clean and dry. Also, the A/F is very rich. So a turbo oil seal probably isn't it. I am now in contact with Eric at Turbo Tweak. He offered to test the chip. Probably that's my next move.

Hi Scott! You've been down here to my place before. Port St. Lucie. Hope you are doing ok.

Yes. Tried swapping it with one that I borrowed from a friend. No change. Thanks for your input though.
