    Alarm system recommendations

I have the Python Responder on the GTP and LOVE it. You really cant get any better than the products from Directed. I paid a little over $600 installed (piezo horn, backup battery, mercury hood switch as extras). Another really good one is the Clifford stuff. Just be warned they are really...

    Front stage speaker questions

They are louder because they are closer to your head and have a direct reflection off the windshield in your face unlike the doors which fire at your feet and legs.

    Motherboard manufactures

Well its a really odd problem. If you try to install anything it takes FOREVER no matter which cd drive u use (several hrs) and it takes 15-30min to read a floppy. A local technician said that a bad HD can cause weird things to happen with other IDE drives, or the ide section of the motherboard...

    Motherboard manufactures

I need some suggestions for reliable mb companies. Abit is supposed to be a good company, but since my board fried and the current prob we are having with my mom's puter (narrowed down to either mb or hd, most likely mb) I just don't trust Abit anymore. I know Asus has a board with the...

    Steering wheel controls????

Not sure if in '00 they have the GP's radio fixed but in my 97 it was a pile of junk and its VERY common for them to have problems. Main problems are the CD transport, they wear out and CD's just constantly skip. Some other dumb problems are the volume control. You turn it down the radio goes...

    pioneer deh-p7400mp

You will need to re-adjust your gains, they will need to go UP now to compensate for the smaller signal outputed via the RCA's. With the lower voltage and higher gain setting you will be more prone to noise, but hopefully that won't be a problem.

how do you put new wiring into the door?

Painfully. lol I had many cuts on my hand and arm after getting mine in there, 12ga btw so 14 will fit. I just pushed back that black plastic that is behind the e-brake and found the duct to the door with my fingers and then just shoved the wire through. It took a lot of try's to get it...

    Subs cutting out

Do you have the subs running stereo? What load are they running? The ZR amps will only handle a 1-ohm stereo and 2-ohm mono load. You could be going into thermal protection, but only after 15s its doubtful. My Lanzar CPS amp would do that when I had a load too low for it to handle, its a...

I need all the opinions I can get on replacement front speakers

to just use the dash location, no not much else you can do. Check out all the local car stereo shops and listen to any 3.5's they have on the display board and see if they sound better than what is in yours already.

    Alt whine

Only way to do that would be to put a thick piece of steel between them and with about a 99.9% certainty thats not the problem, and rarely is the problem (power and rca being next to each other). Go through a systematic approach like what GNandTTA listed, its the only way to find and isolate...

Had my Stereo System DBed this past weekend

I would definatly get it looked at and see how much it would cost to get it fixed. I wouldn't try to go through RF though, hit up your local shops and see if they know anyone who repairs amps. Heck one of the shops might be able to do it (Audio Video here in town does repairs)

    Trouble with JBL 1200.1

Oh no, you released the magical smoke! hehe If it was smoking/smelling, the amp is a goner. It could of been just one of those that slipped through quality control @ JBL, it happens. Those amps have a pretty good reputation for lasting. Did you buy new from him, or was it a used one? If...

Some info for people that use "capacitors" in car audio!

Well the whole 'unregulated vs regulated' is just marketing, all car amps have regulated power supplies. What they mean to say is a tighty regulated or loosly regulated and all that means is with a tightly regulated power supply the amps power output won't change AS MUCH as a loosly regulated...

Had my Stereo System DBed this past weekend

All in all, thats not a bad score with what you have and the track you played. Congrats! First off, 127db for 'just listening to music' is plenty loud. Loud listening is ~90-100dB. As far as any competion goes, you would loose against most all SQ cars with that db. But don't worry, the music...
