    Tip-in hesitation

2 months back I had a backfire on the low end and on the high end. I hope you have discovered your problem's answer with the tuneup. I did. I was going to change out the plugs and wires because (5) on the driver' side was notfiring. Number 2 plug wire was burn't almost in two places. The...

is it a 86/87 MAF sensor

MAF NATHYN: The MAF I have is the same as you describe. I checked my manuals but I still cannot determine which BUICK engine it came from. I will keep looking till I run out of material to check.

    diagnosis question

I installed a new crank (Poston) sensor today. The backfire problem is still there. I didn't have to modify it after all. I also re-adjustd my TPS. Nothing helped. I still have a few more ideas of things to check. I will keep you posted of the results. Lawrence

    missing, running rich

Sorry to hear your car is not running right. If the crank sensor is not set right the car will run like you say. There should be .030" clearance on each side of the blade on the back of the crank pulley that goes between the blades of the crank sensor. The crank sensor is located on the drivers...

    Intercooling a 1985 Grand National?

Swapping in an 86-87 is relatively easy. Just be sure you have the complete wiring harness and computer. The IC and all the parts should be there too. The oil filter has lines that go to an oil cooler that is built into the stock radiator but an auxiliary oil cooler will work. You will have...

    diagnosis question

I am having the same problem with my 84T hot air. I adjusted the TPS so it shows 4.97V at wot but at idle it is 1.0V. The car pulls strong with just very little pedal but still backfires with a lot of throttle. I have changed to a 237 fuel pressure regulator and up the boost also. I don't...

is it a 86/87 MAF sensor

MAF SENSOR The MAF I wrote about is a GM MAF with the following information. 5 Pin connector, AC Mass Airflow Sensor p/n 25007770 MM+-F. The male connector plug has PED8 stamped on one side and the other side ABCDE. It has been so long since I picked it up from the pick a part that I don't...

is it a 86/87 MAF sensor

MAF for GN Your MAF is from a fuel injected Buick, Olds, Pontiac engine. IT IS NOT FROM GN or T-Type Turbo engine. The 86 GN MAF Part Number is 25007866 and the 87 GN MAF is BW 25007861. They are both three pin connectors, same diameter all the way through and they...

    Pre 84/85 turbo downpipe elbow

Just wanted to fill in a little info. Pre 84/85 FI turbo Buicks use a different intake and turbo setup than carb turbo Buicks. You will have to do a lot of work to adapt a FI turbo set up. The pipe from the exhaust to the turbo will fit. The downpipe is bent different and so is the downpipe...

    Electrical problem

:) Can anyone out there give suggestions where to look to solve this problem?? 84T-Type runs fair (because I also drive a 86GN) but will suddenly lose electricity and will not even crank. I can put a small charge to it and it will start up and run good again. The problem is intermittant...
