So my 87 Turbo T has this really strange issue at the moment that has been going on for a few years. I installed a set of Intrepid Fans and the Dual Relay wiring kit in the car a while back and it seems that the issue may be related to the fan system,
What happens basically is the car runs...
Just a Update:
Installed the Drip lip this morning, my car has a stock crossover and I had too loosen the bolts to get it in position. Then I realized it needed to be trimmed to clear my RJC engine brace but other then that no issues! I'll report back if it catches my oil drip and crossover smell.
How usable is fourth gear? I've heard from different people that you cant really use fourth gear at all for WOT as it only has two clutches and can slip. Has anyone built a trans that can run hard into fourth? What kind of power level can fourth handle?
I had to throw the gbodyparts TV cable in the trash as it was not the correct length and would not stay in the bracket. Very disappointing I sanded my stock one down and looked it over and found a hairline crack.. I used JB weld plastic epoxy and it sealed the crack. I'm letting it sit overnight...
if the TCC solenoid is not working properly your Torque converter can remained locked. It's a simple part to replace but requires you to drop the pan. You can test this theory by unplugging your black connector on the driver side of the trans and take the car for a spin and see how it feels...
When I get the Gbody Cable I'll put them side by side and make sure they are the same length, as for the plastic clip to the throttle linkage any ideas if that is strong enough Steve?
Update# I Installed a new grommet and checked my stock boot and all looked well , reinstalled and it still leaks from the boot somewhere, I dont know if its warped and not sitting on the gasket properly.
Thanks Steve , I pulled my cable out and it looks like the Grommet is the actual suspect. Its hard to judge from pictures I took but once I took it out and had it in hand it was not cracked. I think it just needs a clean up and re torque with a new grommet.
