I'm not sure if there are variations in cooler flow in different transmissions or what but I've seen identical converters with very similar cooler set ups vary a lot in temps.
I've seen a sprag drop temps 15-20 degrees. It's not a huge difference but at the point your at, it don't hurt. Its best to monitor temp in the pan for a direct comparison.
Farmtruck and Azn are the entertainment for me on the OKC show. I agree, I can't relate to the cars anymore on that show. When they are turning into tube chassis Pro-mod type cars.....it lost interest.
Standing on the end is best. The weight of the converter is working against you and it's hard to align it perfectly when your arms are getting tired. By standing it up on it's tail shaft you now have the weight of the converter working for you.
It depends on the stall. The looser, the more heat it will make at cruise. You can call me at 256-303-5387 and I'll go over everything with you to get you what you need. There are 4 different stalls I use with the turbo Buick.
I think it was actually 105psi of boost on their 5 second passes. Look up Ekanoo racing 5 second supra. There are videos out there. A friend of mine drives the car.
The heads don't flow a huge amount of air so it takes a really high boost number to push it in. Compared to something like a 481x...
A few years back Titan blew up their 2 race motors in their Supra and stopped by the dealer on the way to the next race to get another engine. The car ran high 7's in the 1/4 on a bone stock engine.
They have been 5's now in the 1/4 on the OEM block and head. Granted it does have some custom...
It might have some numbers on it that can be a clue as to what's inside. If it was built for the V6 it's probably similar to the 9" Art Carr's which worked well. A 9" will spool easily. They need to be built on the tight side to couple power of a 9 or 10 second car.
