If your current converter stall 2600 at 0 boost and is to loose, you need to go a little tighter. However if your 2100 stall was to tight and the 2600 is to loose you have a very narrow range to shoot for. I can do a custom 2400 stall for $450.

    Hello Dusty,
I was wondering how much a lock-up PTC would be for my unopened engine with a Te62? Ball park?
    Thanks

What's the rest of the combo? Ported or stock heads? Camshaft? Shift rpm?

If your shooting to run 10's I still suggest a non lock. 11.20's and slower you can get away with the lock-up.
    Hey Dusty,

Bison suggests a converter upgrade. I am running a D5 with 2800 stall. The Gn is getting a new PTE CEA BB 6262. Plan on runiing 25 lbs of boost. The car will be used on the street with a monthly trip to the drag strip. Bison thinks at over 500 hp it should be a non lock up. I don't think my rwhp will be over 500 hp. Therefore a lock converter is suggested. What do you think?

    Thanks,

    Bill
If sent to PTC include a note for Lane describing the work you want performed and to contact me concerning the work. On the note include your contact info and return shipping address.....this info speeds the process up. If your wanting a restall I need to work with you to determine what new stall is needed.

Can you post the mailing address for the PTC converters. Mine is about to be sent in.
Great Tony. The 9.5's will begin seeing boost around 3000-3200. The stall you want to watch is the flash stall which is what it drops to on the gear change. It needs to be in the power band of the engine. I like to see it drop 600-800 rpm at least.
Guess what showed up today? My converter! What stall did you end up with for my combo?

Hey fellas sorry to butt in but im lookn for a converter that would take me in the low 11 or mid... i was recommand a ptc 10'' 2800 l/u...here are my mod mostly stock, stock block stock heads, front mount innercooler 3'',t66 turbonitecs, 60lbs injectors, turbo twick chip 91pump gas 16-18lbs, headers, hotwire,k&n 14'' kenne bell ram air, build trans but not sure about wat converter is it, i know a 9'' sumthin 3450... next mod a converter an alky or cam...? thanks dave, dusty
David, the only option you have in the lock-up will be a 2800 10". I can go tighter with a non lock but can't with the lock-up. The 2800 is efficient enough for mid to low 11's. It's been as fast as 10.60's but the slip is on the high side at that power level. As long as your goals aren't faster than the low 11 area, you'll be good with the 2800. My cell is 256-303-5387
