    TH400 Charge flow pressure

That is where I have ended up. I have checked and checked the converter fluid circuit in my transmission. I have lost count on how many times it has been out. As a last ditch effort to be 100% sure it was nothing in the trans, I borrowed one from a friend and the result was exactly the same. I...

    TH400 Charge flow pressure

What can be causing the converter to not respond? It only slightly cares how much power is applied. It is a turbo LS deal and even with 30psi boost, the rpm drop is basically the same as with 15psi.

    TH400 Charge flow pressure

I was not aware of the cavity. I was going by what I could see with a light and the fact that a piece of welding wire was almost impossible to coax up through the hole. Either way, I swapped the pump, and inspected the cooler ports on the case making sure they were not obstructed by some left...

    TH400 Charge flow pressure

I know this is an old thread, but you guys seem to be studying something similar to what I am right now. I have a TH400 in a car and the the 9.5" PTC does not respond to stator or pump changes. I have been studying some things and trying to learn more about converter charge etc. I restricted the...

Battery voltage at 11 constantly even after new battery/alternator

I have also seen the main wire from the alternator to battery deteriorate and cause a no charge condition.

Did I install this cam sensor correct?

Injectors will still work even if cam sensor is incorrectly installed. They just fire at the wrong time. The slow turning over sounds like you left the main ground wire from the battery to the block off.

    Need/want more power!

Best $500 I spent on mine for performance was tossing the D5 Converter and having Dusty Bradford build me a 10". Way more fun to drive.

    Ported stock heads Identification

I picked up a set of heads the other day and I would like to know a little more about them. They have been CNC ported on the intake and exhaust, and the chambers. Best I can tell with a pair of calipers and the valves still in the heads they are 1.77, 1.50. Only marks I see on them are "ESP 48"...

1987 Black Regal with T package non turbo 307 HOW MANY PRODUCED

OP- Way cool car BTW. Glad to see you stuck with Oldsmobile power. I keep playing with the idea of putting a 403 in my 442, but the older I get, the harder it is for me to take one apart that runs. You did a very nice job on the swap.

1987 Black Regal with T package non turbo 307 HOW MANY PRODUCED

As I stated, it is ironic people find it to be blasphemy to put a LS in a car that came with an LC2, but ANY other G body is game on. And furthermore, I most likely have far less $$$ in my turbo LS setup than anyone with an Buick V6 nipping on 8s in a full weight G body. The most expensive part...

200 4R "whine" at slow speeds

X2 on the converter causing the whine. I have had a couple of vehicles do this. Currently my daily beater baby blazer has started it. It going to run it till it dies then rebuild it since it has 155k on it.

1987 Black Regal with T package non turbo 307 HOW MANY PRODUCED

I understand the lack of potential of the 307 as opposed to the LC2. I own an 86 442 all stock, 86 GN, and a 78 Malibu with a turbo LS. The potential for the LS is miles ahead of the LC2. I'm not trying to start an argument, I'm just pointing out my amusement at the double standard.

1987 Black Regal with T package non turbo 307 HOW MANY PRODUCED

It is quite amusing how the turbo V6 worshippers lose their minds at the idea of anything other than a turbo V6 being slammed into a turbo regal. But a WAY cool factory 307 car, "nah, go ahead and swap it!".

    Working on Cruise Control

Light only comes on after pressing "set/coast" button. The cruise system should still try to work, cable or not. Is your ecu getting speed signal?

Ls turbo swap or build 3.8 ?

I own both an intercooled Buick, and a turbo LS swapped 78 Malibu. Buick is very basic, unported heads, TE44, basic pump gas only setup and runs high 7s@85mph in the 1/8. I probably have $1500 in that long block. It's fun, and I do enjoy driving it. Enough power to surprise most modern muscle...
