Keep in mind, oil pressure is nice but not the whole deal. If you plug the cam feed you could have 1000+ psi! Flow is just as,if not more, important.

Another thing to do would be to see if you can find anyone that knows how to mod the front cover for improved oil flow. There used to be a DIY write up from a guy named earl around...some searching may yield that. I built my last motor a little looser than some (around .023/.023 if I remember...
You could also take a hot wire down and use it to activate the solinoid. If nothing happens you have a good idea of whats wrong. If it does activate you should use a meter and just follow the circuit back looking for 12VDC when you hit the key.
