I haven't had any issues with parts from auto zone but I haven't bought a battery from them I usually get them from walmart. The last walmart battery I bought is going on 7 years now. Advance crapy parts is where I run into issues with bad parts and the idiots behind the counter.

Working on the the ground is a pain. I use an electric in line pump with some rubber lines to drain the tank. Good idea with the straps it looks like it went up there pretty nice that way.

Mechanical would be a bad idea unless it's outside. The electric is the one you want for inside the car because it uses a remote sending unit and no fuel will have to come into the car.
