OH Crap I think I just got scammed. I got this same PM on my parts wanted for the vector wheel adapters on Sunday, from Jean88. I called, he texted back, gave me a decent price. I used Zelle $145 shipped.
I'm so stupid I knew something was wrong when he texted me back today and said he needed $55 more that he made a mistake , something about his wife's Father had the parts and she made a mistake on the price. He said sorry and said he would refund the money if I didn't want them anymore. I said yes just refund it, then he texted back said he started the shipping process how about another $25.
I'm so embarrassed to even tell this story. I'm 66 and can't believe I fell for this knowing it smelt bad ,but still I trusted him because I had his # and email for Zelle. This never happened to me before, crap!
 
He deleted the conversation, but I have the email.

So sorry for your loss. Wish I would have had him deleted before you got caught up in it. Sounds exactly like the message I received. That was fishy in itself and then if you go and check him in the members forum you would see that he was new and that was a real telltale sign.
 
Thanks, Yeah, I saw he was new but I figured he was trying to help like most people in the hobby. The funny thing is I'm still getting texts saying they'll have tracking # for me. Why even bother texting me, you have my money?
 
Sad. Most members on this board are great to deal with or Shane gets rid of them. Just check their history first. And I don't email or call anybody unless I know exactly who I'm calling by checking the member history. He's probably hanging in there in case you want more 😂
 
Oh I agree Chuck but he keeps texting him now that he knows his phone number. That's why nobody should ever call that number

Sorry to hear. It's a sad day when a trusting person(like yourself) is betrayed by a low life piece of shit. It might be a good idea to state(in future ads), that you'll only buy from a reputable member. That weeds out a lot of the garbage.
