Official Buicks @ Bates Nut Farm thread Sunday 5 June 2022

A few notes on the show.
We've got a hand full of blem or slightly damaged Spoolfool bumper fillers my guys will be bringing to blow out. First come, first serve. Cash deals only.

I just talked to Bates. The trees are big, with lots of shade. You are still welcome to bring ez ups. Definitely bring chairs to sit in.

I'll be bringing the alky tester if anyone wants to check their system. See the Spoolfool boys.

So far, it has been 100% positive feedback going to $5.00 a raffle ticket. This will most likely happen unless someone can come up with a good reason why we should not.

We can always use help in the morning parking cars and handing out T-shirts.

Please drive safe. Absolutely no burnouts while leaving the Nut Farm.
Also, if you can pick up your trash on the way out, that would be cool.

Two more days. Can't wait. :)

Wanted to see what everyone thinks of this idea.
There has been talk of changing the raffle ticket price from $1.00 a ticket to $5.00 a ticket.

What would this do?
The people buying tickets would still have the same odds of winning, but not have to be wrestling with five times as many tickets to do it.
Think of when we're calling numbers and all the tickets you have to look through. It would make it much simpler.
Volunteers selling tickets will now only have 1/5th as many tickets to tear up and handle.

Once again, Given the same money spent, your odds would still be the same of winning. There would just be 1/5 as many tickets to draw from.

Thoughts?
Yes I like the idea $5 per ticket

Mike even let's Lou park his trashy Demon at the event
Traitorous behavior!
I'm betting he brings his pickup w/ the high bed rails....

I had a great time! It was fun to see all you knuckleheads again! ;) I ran into Paul Harris who I hadn't seen in at least 20 years. He and I were chatting about racing at the Street Legal drags at Pomona back in the day. I asked him if he bought another Buick? He answered "I still have the same one". He's owned it since it was new. Now that's dedication!

I really appreciate everyones efforts and it did my heart good to see Nick Micale and his wife Terry back in attendance. I thought it was funny that Pizza Ralph tried to disguise the fact he was winning everything in the raffle by having his kids, and other family members claim all the loot. He's a great guy and does a lot for the Buick Community so it's Karma the way I see it.

Looking forward to next year!

Been chatting with Phill Guy from MAD magazine again for T shirt and poster art. He should have sketches for us this weekend.
Good stuff is happening. I'm excited. If we can pull 87 Turbo Buicks during COVID, I think we can do 100 now. I know there are a bunch of TBs running now that haven't run in years. We'll start an official Bates 2023 thread soon.
